This is a really good device to study in detail.

Any chance you can get some screenshots of the running device and annotate all the components in comparison with the schematic, to see just how exact things actually are?

I can try, but it is low res video.  I had a hard time just getting the one screenshot.  Wattsup may be better at it.  I think he has some software to help analyze videos.

Yep, could be fake, but I hope not.  At least small enough circuit to test with not too much effort.

I just saw this video over on OU.com home page.  It is another version of the 1W by Akula.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DkjdsQ9vug or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8yAoy7jJIo

Is there anyone here that could translate the new Akula videos?

These two I'm most interested:

Thank you!!

However, since he uses so many transistors in his circuit,  I have a strong feeling he is implementing a latching circuit to deceive people into thinking the 3 V battery induces the initial charge that keeps it going and operating in OU mode.   But in actuality, he most likely has hidden batteries in the ring, and the 3V battery only latches the circuit ON and OFF with is drawing its energy from those hidden batteries.  Why do I say this? Because a joule thief circuit does not need 3 transistors to operate, I think it's a deliberate over design to deceive by creating a latching circuit.

Anyway, that's how I feel about this tonight!  :)

Agreed; latching Kapanadze style.

Thanks, but right now more interested in translation of new videos.  They could even be useful for the 30w.
