Hello all,
I think I put this in the right forum :)
Aluminum Nitride Low-Frequency Harvester (aka Piezoelectric Harvester):
http://www.greenoptimistic.com/2014/02/10/aluminum-nitrate-vibrations-electricity/ (http://www.greenoptimistic.com/2014/02/10/aluminum-nitrate-vibrations-electricity/)

Somehow, at some point in the reporting process,
the name of the material was changed: According
to the press release the material is Aluminum Nitride (http://www.surmet.com/technology/aln/index.php)
which is produced by reacting Aluminum with Nitrogen
under the requisite conditions.
Aluminum Nitrate (http://www.americanelements.com/aln.html) is something else again.
Here's an article (http://spie.org/x84503.xml) describing how the device works.
More here (http://www.sensorsportal.com/HTML/DIGEST/january_2010/MEMS_piezoelectric_harvester.htm).
Thanks for the links! I've corrected Nitrate to Nitride in the OP.
