Title: Do you know how to laminate coils in safe a quick way ?
Post by: forest on 2016.02.21, 09:11:37
Do you know any resin which is not much toxic , do not generate toxic fumes like styrene and can be used to laminate coils ?
Basically I need something which can be used in room and has 30-60 minutes curing time and after 1-3 days has also resistance to temperature around 100 degrees Celsius without preheating.

Thanks, but it needs some time of heating to get proper temperature stability while I use acrylic form which do not like temperatures higher then 60degrees. I have used epoxy resin Epidian 53 which is perfect, but very toxic and I got severe problems with my health due to not using fume hood.

Hi Forest
I am not sure what you mean by laminate, but how about a mixture of high temperature Silicon and / or kapton tape.

Kapton is expensive though

I am wondering if you could use kiln paper impregnated with high temp silicon, kiln paper comes in all sorts of thickness's.

Apparently this stuff can be moulded and filed and with stand 1300 Deg C but i have no experience of using it.

It is what I want to do - flat steady pancake coils hardened with resin and resisting up to 100 degrees C
