Title: Anomalous macro-scale Casimir effect
Post by: Verpies on 2026.10.05, 04:15:13
The user Chrono_Welder_1272 who did not complete the registration sent the following information:

Here is the pure, verified experimental data that completely challenges standard textbook physics:

Subject: Anomalous macro-scale Casimir effect and non-typical field values in multilayer diffraction grids.

Under photon exposure (clear, sunny weather), a specific multidimensional grid structure (8 to 12 layers) induced a stable, localized static magnetic field of up to 2 mT (millitesla) without any external power inputs.
All measurements were taken with a TD8620 handheld digital Tesla/Gauss meter, initially with the protective cap on the sensor (removing the cap doubles the mT readings to ~2 mT). The natural background field on the mirror was stable at 0.08 mT.

Summary of the results:
• Galvanized store-bought grating (8 layers, 1x1 cm cells): Reached 0.16 mT (+200% field increase).
• Galvanized store-bought grating (12 layers, 1x1 cm cells): Reached 0.45 mT (+562.5% field increase).
• Homemade multidimensional grating (8 layers, 1.5x2 cm cells): Reached a stunning 0.98 mT (+1225% field increase).

Technical specifications of the homemade multidimensional grating:
• Material: Copper-plated steel (MIG welding wire, 1.2 mm diameter).
• Cell size: 1.5 cm by 2.0 cm.

Crucial Observation:
The increase in the magnetic field is strictly tied to the weather and is NOT detected in cloudy weather. It requires clear and sunny conditions (direct photon exposure) to trigger the spatial resonance.
I have attached the full English experimental data sheet to this message.

I am just passing it on because he can't post here.

IMO: Magnetic remanence in steel is in every standard textbook of physics.
Remanence's dependence on sunlight - is not.

I could not resist as i had both the 1cm by 1cm store bought grating and a gause meter lying around.

Toke me little time to set it up, and the sun was there the next day, so here the result: https://youtu.be/lZM_SRMQ3I0
Outdoors result starts at 4:15 in the video.

I have been watching this thread with some amusement.  To claim this is linked to the Casimir effect is beyond credibility.  It is obvious the guy has no understanding of (a) magnetic effects and (b) how to use a gaussmeter.  The Earth's magnetic field is stated (Wikipedia) to be between 30 and 60 mT.  To zero out that field on his gaussmeter, then place it near some Fe and claim the new reading shows a field value "created" by the Fe is just silly.  We know that a piece of Fe can concentrate the field in one close region while reducing it in another region.  Also the field vector direction changes.  His gaussmeter can be fitted with two probes, one that measures field along the probe and the other measures field at right angles.  He doesn't say which one he uses, and he doesn't change angle.  As regards the sunlight effect, as someone who has used metal tools that have been exposed to bright sunlight I know that the incident and reflected sunlight near his mirror will significantly heat the Fe and that will alter its magnetic characteristics. So IMO his results are not showing something significant.

If Itsu wants to take this further he might be able to extend the sensitivity of his gaussmeter.  If his probe measures field normal to the probe he could place small Fe rods either side creating something that looks like a small dipole antenna but is in fact a flux concentrator.  He could then examine the field around his grating and perhaps even see the effect of heat.

Chet sent me a vid on how a thin downward stream of water can be slightly deflected(repelled) with a strong magnet. then they talked about how you can set a non magnetized strip of iron facing earth N and S and hit it with a hammer and it will lightly magnetize the iron. It was a woman doing the vid, and to my surprize, she was using a rubber mallet, and not really hitting it hard.  So it got me thinking that if the iron was oriented N and S earth field, that the sun could probably heat up the iron enough to allow it to magnetize.

So an experiment for that would need to follow these criteria, possibly.

lets say that while the iron is in the sun, getting all hot and bothered, test the magnetic field of the iron while hot. and if it shows a field, then apply a shadow over the iron and test again. does the removal of the light cause the iron to now not be magnetized or even lessen the field strength? IMO probably not.

Also does the irons magnetic field show orientation to the earths field?  my question would be if the light, photons, are instilling the field in the iron, what is the determining factor of this function that determines what end is N and S of that field?  ???

Im going to find some iron rod, or some strip and put it out in the sun, oriented N and S and leave it till dark and let it cool that way. Im thinking that if i bring it inside while hot and change the orientation, that it may not hold that field as it was initially created while it was in the heat.
so ill do both and compare. simple enough

Here is the vid chet sent me.

Yes, exactly that.  Does it allow you to "see" the earth's field?

I assume your gaussmeter has a transverse probe where you can apply the Fe rods.  That photo looked like something atop a screwdriver.

Post by: Itsu on 2026.10.09, 19:55:13
It does look like a screwdriver, but its the transverse probe tip, here in detail with the dipole cap removed:

transverse probe with dipole top smaller.png

It does not detect the earth's field, i do see the N and S symbols flip over to N when i turn it to North, but the display reading stays at 00.0mT

Post by: Smudge on 2026.10.10, 07:35:23
Do you know where the sensor is inside the outer case of the probe?  I assume it is a small sensor near the tip, and your plastic cap places two FE rods, one each side of that sensor.  If that is correct and it can't see the earth's field it needs larger rods, longer and increased diameter.  You should then get indications in that final 0.1T digit.  Did that dipole cap come with the gaussmeter or did you make it yourself?
Title: Re: Anomalous macro-scale Casimir effect
Post by: Itsu on 2026.10.10, 08:58:38
The sensor is marked with a dot on the tip of the probe, hard to see in the earlier picture, so here a close-up:

tip.png

The dipole cap i 3D printed myself (i made a thicker one now to better hold the fe rods (which are cut-off legs of components like resistors / capacitors)).
The rods are positioned right at the height of the dot on the probe.

So larger rods, longer and increased diameter are needed i guess, i will see what i can do.

Thanks, Itsu

I used the thicker dipole cap and put in 3mm holes to enable to screw in 2x 3mm - 3cm long screws which clamps against the probe tip on each side:

screw dipole cap small.png

With this setup i can detect and measure the North and South poles to be 0.2mT  O0

If these bolts are not stainelss steel then it makes sense.

For measurements of stronger fields, the bolts will become permanantly magnetized which is undesirable.
A soft ferromagnetic material (or ferrimagneteic) that exhibits negligible remanence would be needed to make a more accurate field probe.

The bolts are magnetic, so not stainless steel, but no idea what they are made of.

I ordered some 10cm long, 3mm thick soft iron rod which could be inserted in place of the screws to see if that makes any improvement.

Hi Chet,

seems interesting this video, but not something a can relate to other than the crazy high frequencies mentioned caused by the crazy small dimensions of these cells
But shielding flies from the earth magnetic field?? Can that be done.

Anyway, a saw the comments on Mooker.com on the Casimir replication, and he has some good points about the gauss meter and its flaws.
Not sure i can improve on them (no "hold"button).

But i do not know why he would not be able to comment on my video on Youtube as i certainly can as i just did.

Dear colleagues, Jim, Itsu, and forum members. As an honest researcher, I am obligated to share the results of my control experiment conducted today, which completely settles the question regarding the magnetic component.
To definitively rule out the ferromagnetic properties of steel and the influence of solder, I ran a clean test. Using a single piece of solid, non-magnetic copper wire, I constructed a 6-layer grid measuring 10x10 cm with a cell size of 1.5x2 cm. The layers were not soldered, were not interconnected into a single electrical circuit, and were secured exclusively with cyanoacrylate. When tested under completely identical conditions, the old steel version consistently displayed the previous anomalous readings, while the new copper grid yielded nothing but the baseline magnetosphere background of the Earth.
Given that the hypothesized core energy is supposed to obey the laws of diffraction and interference, it should have manifested itself on the copper grid in this configuration as well—for a wave resonance, it would not matter whether the layers were interconnected or not.
This negative result forces me to a definitive scientific conclusion: the millitesla readings previously recorded on the steel grids were a manifestation of a complex residual magnetization of the steel itself, which misled me and created the illusion of a spatial resonance.
I offer my sincere apologies to Itsu and to all the skeptics on this forum—your doubts and zero results were absolutely correct. Many thanks to everyone involved for the prompt critical analysis and verification of the experiment. Your rigorous approach helped me detect this systemic error in my measurement methodology in time.
I am removing the video report from Bastyon so as not to mislead people with an experiment that did not pass cross-verification with clean materials.
Nevertheless, I will continue my research, but from now on, the physics of the processes will be completely revised, and the magnetic component will be entirely excluded from my calculations. If in the future I manage to present another experiment to the public, the operation of which can be clearly captured on camera, I now know exactly which independent community of practitioners I can turn to for a fair verification.
Truth is more important than ambition. Thank you for this experience

Thanks Chet for posting this.

It's very unfortunately that it did not pan out the way he had in mind, but it's refreshing to see how he checked his own results and commented on the outcome as he did.

Hopefully he will continue to experiment along this path.

For me this makes many questions..
I had thought the entire experiment
Revolved around Sunshine exposure ( PHOTONS) and the attributes of soft iron
and its unique properties (firstly.. its ferrous and its domains are able to be manipulated?

Now a _non ferrous protocol " is used to negate the claims?

Also one additional point I hope those more familiar might explain?
How were his measurements adding to
"1200% over ambient?"

He seemed to be versed in measurement
Protocols and definitely had high resolution instrument...
??
Maybe more explanation ?

Anyhoo
For me it's a new itch ( hard to scratch ATM
Non ferrous??

Tremendous gratitude

His instrument was sensitive enough to read the Earth's magnetic field that has a value between 30 and 60 mT.  The fact that he zeroed out this field before bringing the steel mesh into play would allow the change in field due to the presence of the steel to appear as a reading.  And depending upon the geometry of the steel it can easily increase the field strength near the steel by that 12 times figure as it has a relative permeability many more times that. He seemed to assume his instrument measured field magnitude irrespective of its orientation whereas it actually needs to have its probe aligned with the vector field direction.  IMO his conclusion about his control experiment are as bad as his original experimental conclusion and not worth agonising over.

I personally appreciate this analysis.

If you could muse for a moment.. only because I have been wrestling with what a proper measurement protocol would look like for such a claim?

Is there any part of this fixture or the measuring instruments that could be utilized to qualify or negate the claim?

I can't wrap my mind around it. It almost seems like being underwater and trying to measure and look for Water ( analogy)
How to verify prior that there was no magnet field there to begin with and then how to qualify a field strength ( gain )afterwards?

What would this test fixture look like?
Is it possible to measure these kind of things in such a simple apparatus?

Asking for a friend.......

"This negative result forces me to a definitive scientific conclusion: the millitesla readings previously recorded on the steel grids were a manifestation of a complex residual magnetization of the steel itself, which misled"

Of course! Any ferromagnetic steel can become magnetised. Furthermore, no link to the Casimir effect had ever been established. None of these experiments are 'scientific'. It's fake science. In science, we take the trouble to eliminate all possible artefacts, to repeat experiments with and without variations, to verify the consistency of measurements, and to provide logical reasoning and cause-and-effect relationships, rather than claiming that some amateurish tinkering could "completely challenge standard textbook physics". This was a ridiculous claim stemming from ignorance of the scientific method.

Such harsh words even if true.
He might be a complete amateur and not even be aware of the scientific method.  We cannot blame him for ignoring what might be a completely alien concept to him.

But if he knows about it and willfully chooses to ignore it then it is a different story.

Anyway, he chose not to accept the registration rules of this forum so he cannot post here ...and defend himself from your harsh words.  That seems unfair.

@Smudge
I agree with most of your analysis but I disagree with you quantitatively about the effects of unfocused sunlight on the remanence and coercivity of ferritic-pearlitic steel.
Title: Re: Anomalous macro-scale Casimir effect
Post by: Chet K on 2026.10.15, 01:35:26
Ferritic-pearlitic steel is a widely used type of carbon steel whose microscopic structure consists of a soft, ductile ferrite matrix embedded with islands or regions of harder pearlite.

So is this a material which can
Produce the result ( or some part there of) which the Welder chases?
Sunshine yields fields ?
