... .-.. .. -.. . .-.
I've uploaded a demonstration video of the following to YouTube,
I don't want to be showing something of a dud, as though it's something new !
So, l would welcome your trusted opinions on this circuit, before making the video 'Public'.

Or, in other words, i'm quite excited about a possible discovery, but it may be so much blah and have been fully dealt with ad nauseum since 1850.

The Bow-Tie coil, is so called, because of its shape.
Consisting (in this embodiment, as they say) of 25 turns of 30 gauge wire, it forms 2 triangular connected coil sections.
A second coil, is of 25 winds of the same wire on to a piece of ferrite.
Depending upon where the second coil is placed and which way up it is placed, dictates which triangular side makes the LED light.
If the LED is on, turning the ferrite upside down will extinguish the LED.
That characteristic works 180 degrees differently on each side.
But - the Bow-Tie coil remains energized, even without the second feedback coil triggering the LED to illuminate.
Operating voltage is 1.2V from an Ni-MH battery. Any 1.2V battery will work, but, any 1.5V battery will not !
Another reason for wondering is quite embarrassing in a way and not to be disclosed...this thing was shown running, as per the video, within a lucid dream last night. The 2 sides form half of a pyramid, if you mentally move the Bow-Tie. The 4 sides of a pyramid such as those at Giza being 2 of this sort of arrangement.

Here is the video:

Here is a pic of the setup and the simple circuit.
(hoping to get a better circuit diagram pic, or if required)

It's not as complicated as it may seem...
It's not unusual what you are seeing there.

It's a form of blocking oscillator (aka, Joule Thief). In order for it to oscillate, you need coupling between the bowtie coil L1, and the base coil L2. Since you cross over your winding on the bowtie coil, you have two phases of output. The coupling from the output to input must be the correct phase in order to fire the transistor, so that's why you need to flip the ferrite coil L2 over when you move from one side of the bowtie coil to the other.

Thanks :)
Probably saved some embarrassment with my enthusiasm shown.
I'm wary of uploading so many vids, about 3 or 4 a week.

It seemed so different, because i've never seen an oscillator work like this...no resistor needed for one thing. Hence, the whole weird dream thing and questioning of what it was about lol.
Still, knowledge gained is never a waste.
Current draw is too high, at about 60mA (where a conventional JT pot would no doubt help).

I'm going to build the larger pyramid version as a continuation and to complete the project.
