BTE:
Mylar tape might be ok, but kapton is better, but also very expensive. My main SEP coils are mounted on plastic sheeting (outside one) or plastic tube (inside one).
Reassembling everything over the next few weekends.

I'll get kapton for the CCU SEPs.
I had the top and bottom plates CNC'd and the bobbins as well. They slot together fine, for the SEPs I have dowel rods that slide through drilled holes in the plates, inner and outer, the three sections of the plate are detachable, I wound my SEPs on those.
I'm redo-ing my CCUs with the kapton tape, thanks for the tip!

I use 3M 1205 kapton tape with acrylic adhesive, but the silicone adhesive ones should work just as well. They are about $50 a roll, but you don't need much since the dielectric strength is so high.

(there are cheaper solutions)

If I built a bigger unit, I would probably use a 900V level in place of the SEP around each CCU. It's impossible to get enough wire in the space provided with a 9" unit.

I have two very large rheostats that I use to adjust the SEP current, and I need a third for the CCU SEPs.

What amp rating/wattage? I have three 50W rheostats, but they got too hot at 1 amp or so.

Hand winding the outer SEP again, hard to keep track of turns. Inner SEP has less turns that the outer if I recall correctly.

I have a couple of different inner coils. One has 3 layers and the other has 6 layers.
