While shopping for new tires today, I came across this line:

It was news to me.  So, I thought that I would share it with my friends here.  Maybe we find a new use for those used radial tires; RTPU?

Those radial wires can not be individual hoops, or a toroid coil, because of the large gap spanning the wheel-rims.  So, I am thinking that each individual wire is rather C-shaped.  I wonder how well each wire is isolated/insulated from it's neighbor?

I have no idea how the wires are wrapped when the tires are manufactured; maybe it is one single wire that a machine u-turns back and forth at the rim-edges and not a simple toroid cut-off at the rim-edges as I first imagined.  Anyone know for sure?


EDIT: I wonder why the wires become magnetic over time.  I know that a moving car can build-up a charge, different from the earth below.  So, each wire passes over the top of the tire near the influence of the charged car body.  Then it meets the road near the influence of the earth.  Always the same charge polarities, always the same (fast) rotational (forward) direction, (unless you are Ricky Bobby.)  I am sure that you learned folks will have some better ideas.  Have fun!

EDIT: Hey, GK, do you think Ed used a steel belted radial tire around his generator?  Maybe the auto-axle at the front door was a clue.  ;)

EDIT: Maybe this radial tire is a metaphor for tapping energy:  As the Earth spins and drags the aether with it, there is a zone above Earth's surface where the aether is transitioning back to a local, 'normal,' unmoving aether.  A tire uses rubber to cog with the Earth and the engine provides motive force.  We need to somehow cog our E.M. tires to the transitioning aether gradient and use this existing motive force to drive our generators, ...and eventually slow the earth to a stop and everybody dies.

You are looking at the down side of Wikipedia.  The comment in the Wikipedia entry and the "paper" it points to on a cursory glance appear to be complete junk.

I found the same thing when I looked up "Bloch wall" several months ago and it was obvious the entry had been poisoned by a Bedini/Bearden follower.

My experience when patching steel belted tires
is that the belt (or belts in some cases) is woven
as a screen.  Very tough stuff indeed.

Dumped, I found that same link last night, got interrupted (life) while attempting to post it here, fell asleep, woke-up to post it, and there it was already.  Ha!  Thanks man.

wings, I had a conversation with a friend about this topic.  He suggested that it was the centripetal force acting on the material.  I would like to look into this Barnett effect.  Thanks for posting it.

DeepCut, I was thinking the same thing; static charge buildup on the vehicle skin.  But it seems like this Barnett effect might be it, ...if we can find a source different than Wikipedia, that is.  Thank you.

First, wow, a hundred years ago.  Let that sink in a bit.

So, the Barnett effect is the opposite of the Einstein-de Haas effect, "...magnetizing a ferromagnet can induce a mechanical rotation."  Or perhaps a 'kick' if we block rotation by failing to provide an axle while magnetizing our short strands of bailing wire?

EDIT: Since everyone seems stuck on TPU top-dead-center, I thought I might kick the grey matter around a bit.  I never knew about these two effects.  Maybe one can serve us well.  Maybe not.  I should get back to shopping for new tires!
