I have been having a lot of failures of CMOS IC's when pulsing coils and wanted to toss out some ideas:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiation_hardening

In the above link, I noticed that Bipolar IC's have a higher tolerance to radiation damage and I have had no BJT's fail - yet - knock on wood...

Side Note:

An actual movement of the aether would be like moving an object without actually moving it and moving charges form currents in conductors (even if shielded or insulated) as well as dielectrics (polarization and displacement).
