Energy Conservation: Science or Ideology?

Thanks.  My opinion is that conservation of energy is definitely an ideology, so vehement it might be on par with the negative aspects of religion.

"if someone found a way to make a compressor that was more than 100% efficient, it would be in use everywhere."

It's common sense.

If something like that did exist in the past, we'd really be taking our forefathers for complete idiots not to have spotted it and used it, and imho, the idiocy is more on the side of those who would think so.
This would be particularly true for a supposed invention dating back nearly a century.

It's not the temperature that's important, it's the thermal energy that's troublesome.
