Buy me some coffee
Here are some construction details of a High Voltage Pulse circuit i built.

The original design came from this web site
http://mysite.du.edu/~etuttle/electron/elect37.htm

The coil construction and details.

CORE
Ferrite core is here http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=32792
Part Number is N87AB
31.8 mm Diameter
22.75 mm Length
18.50 mm Hole

COILS
Primary was 15 Turns Close together.
Secondary was 43 Turns Spaced around Circumference.

TRANSISTOR
Transistor i used was a BU2508AF Triple Diffused Planar Silicon
http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datasheet/WINGS/BU2508AF.pdf

CAPACITORS
I used 2 0.1uF caps in parallel in place of the 0.1uF in the diagram to adjust the pulse width for my purpose.

A Very Simple circuit to build.

** Note i am not using the circuit above in the intended way, i am using the transistor to energize the secondary coil, and it is the BEMF that produces the large pulse after the pulse has finished, hence i have wound the coils with a different ratio from that stated in the circuit above to maximize this pulse amplitude, you will also notice because of this, that my pulse is positive going.
