Four quadrant switching has been tried by many to no avail but this has a few twists.
What makes this interesting is the addition of a HV electrostatic bias and the combination of horizontal and vertical wind as the output coil.
Since the output of the collector coil is fed to the red (360 degree) vertical coil there is an automatic intensification of the bias field of the vertical wind as more DC is drawn from the collector. This one part is reminescent of a series compound wound generator. (Bear with me here, I know I have said this before)
This should provide good output load regulation if atom alignment in the collector plays a role in output current level.
We have much more to consider before worrying about load regulation e.g. lack of time scale on timing diagram and (more than anything) proof of authenticity.
So we have:
1) Four quadrant switching with 33.3% overlap between cycles. Frequency TBD. Four windings placed 90 degrees on a 200mm dia form, the last windings of the build.
2) Horizontal collector Litz wire 3 turns with 360 degree winding (red) in series with it.
3) Electrostatic field surrounding collector (not sure how applied but one leg of collector is ground and one output of the HV supply is ground. (not necessarily earth ground). Electrostatic field applied in segments somehow.

Looks like the HV bias just potential of a single polarity, like a single capacitor plate. The other end of the HV is grounded (to what?). Wouldn't this provide a radial electric field between the collector and the HV wire?
Also, he applies 19v to all of the push coils. This might eliminate any small reversals from non-perfect switching.

In electrical circuits usually all devices that are returned to a ground point are designated by a ground symbol. It is implied that the circuits are connected. He could have just drawn a wire and eliminated the ground symbols. It is not known if an earth ground is needed, but the symbol shown is typically earth ground.
We need more info on the HV bias and how it is applied. Could be a segmented capacitor plate, who knows?
Instructions for making the Litz wire 3 turn horizontal winding:

He could have drawn both ends of the HV wire to the hv supply, but he shows a ground symbol. I don't think this matters unless having a ground near the other coils causes issues.
Well that tells us that the collector is not the NAR fuel(same as McFreey) but what it was connected too or the other coils
McFreey uses a resonant LC coil as the collector and bias in one
There may be two fundamentally similar, but functionally different effects utilized in these devices.
Depends if they realized they were setting up for NAR.
It may just be that they found they had to rotate to get the correct conditions for NAR or it maybe a way to allow the ring to cool and only heat as the rotating field biases for NAR in a small area of the ring.
Too much heat buildup may put the ring outside of the control parameter for tracking.

Now on the points:
The generator in circuit is not correctly drawn, you need another TTL generator for range of 10kHz - 3MHz.

I have read many of your comments and information at the other forum (OU).
There are some fellows here that have been into TPU research from the beginning of it's appearance on youtube (2006) and the OU forum that same year. Many of us were, or are members there and comment from time to time.

Thus far this is the clearest, most complete set of build instructions we have had for a TPU. We are thankful for that.
What would be "icing on the cake" is visual proof that this design actually works.
Are there any known video's out there showing this exact build or something very close working to produce power?
Is there a simple proof of concept experiment that allows verification of the hypothesis? Is there a hypothesis?
Another question: How did SM squeeze all the circuitry and HV power supply into his 3" and 6" unit? The HV electrostatic field would leak into any circuitry buried under the wraps and there does not seem to be room for this.
500 Watts of input power (300 to 400 for drive coils, 100 for HV supply) would dictate some large heatsinks to cool the semiconductors. We do not see these on the SM originals. I assume it would require this power for several seconds until the unit winds up and can feed itself. This would indicate a large starter battery somewhere. also not seen in the SM originals.

The Russian device being discussed on this thread rotates a magnetic field in a static electric field (radial to collector) orthogonal to a static magnetic field (output coil wrapped around collector and hv sheet/box). It sequentially pulses coils in a circle, so is simulated rotation, but the vectors appear to move in a circle and repeat across the same collector over and over.
The TPU rotates an electrostatic field (the pulse bifilar coil with one wire delayed), in a static magnetic field. SM's static magnetic field was supplied by the output, but takes very little energy to start. You can use an actual magnet, but we were warned that is may come apart at a certain frequency. I cite the Energia Celeste patent for reference to using a bar magnet, and the spherics emails for problems.
Thus the Russian approach takes more energy to start because of the rotating magnetic field. Also, the 100w for the HV supply could be reduced with a different supply, but you still have to drive the push coils.
Have they stated what the output of this device is? Have they achieved 1Kw yet?

The growing fields can squeeze something or push something but not in themselves rotate. Something else has to rotate if rotation is even a factor. Is this wrong?
Also we need someone who speaks the language to clarify / correct the translation so that it makes more sense. I think Elrod may already be doing some of this at EF.
Small point: Is the diameter 200 mm to the outside, center or inside measurement of the torus.
I guess if everything is tightly wound it would not be very thick.
Is there a height requirement or do we build with the approximate dimensions of the drawings?

You would not get the required 33.3% overlap with bit rotation, but there are other ways to do this with a couple of simple timing loops and delay.
The counter could have two different load values, the 66.6% value and the 33.3% value alternately loaded with appropriate set or reset of ports bits after testing the last bit state.
You could also use a simple timer driving the NMI of a processor for stable yet adjustable patterning within NMI.
I haven't checked yet to see how the translation is coming along at EF but I did an OCR (using Russian OCR) on the document T-1000 posted above and then translated it with Google. Images are not included - just the text and it' a bit messy as some of it was from the schematics. It still will give English speaking people a rough idea of what's written in this doc for now.

It depends on the point of view.
From the perspective of a magnetic or electric field being pulsed sequentially in a circular arrangement, You are correct that the field builds and collapses, thus is does not actually rotate.
From the perspective of the collector, the force from the electric or magnetic field is moving around in a circle - it appears to be rotating, its changing position.
If you cause electrons to precess along a conductor, a current will be induced. Electrons have a inherent spin, and can precess. Rotation is not required but relative motion, or the "appearance" of relative motion between the collector in the static field and the other force field, is required.
Other than the electrons, I suspect that space itself moves, for lack of a better term, and space moving doesn't necessarily mean it is a current. I suspect that space in motion can drag electrons, but this is speculation.

For Russian TPU version - it is not exactly same as SM TPU. Just it shares some things in common.
The claimed output with 20cm diameter toroid was about 2-4kW for prolonged period and it could produce up to 8kW for very short period before overheat. Also there was claim about gyroscopic effect and 3/4 loss of mass.
Also the closest effect to explain power gain is buried deep in vacuum bulbs secondary emission effect - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secondary_emission , it is most likely similar thing in nature here due of influence of strong electrostatic field.
The Litz wire in collector coil is focused hot place due heating effect of strong magnetic fields from control coils.
There was no video of working device shown and also there are difficulties to communicate with Sergey (he lives in mountains and does not have Internet access at home). But due nature of much details provided my Russian friends are giving try to assemble unit and will see if we can make it work.

This is what I suspect as well because when you have ionized dialectric and lots of electrons pulled out of wire they should move around the ring and follow magnetic field movement. O0
Can't see other way at the moment on Sergey's TPU for getting lots of current amplification on Litz wire collector coil. So you will get almost DC on output there.
You will not get the current without the orthogonal electric field and static magnetic field (or other force fields), plus pushing fields.
The method has been named gyroscopic force induction. Your electric field is not strong enough at 16kv on a large surface to release electrons. In addition to this, emission is only a surface effect and you have much more current than is achieved by emission. The effect may appear as emission, or beta decay.

For those that are radio Hams you will know what a Loop antenna is. For such a simple item it is very complicated how it works, it does not need a ground counter poise. They have been, and still are used in forms other than for RX TX, They were the primary antennas for my water splitting system. With just a few watts input you could light all the fluorescents in your house, but you would not want to stand by one as the uniform current along the loop can be lethal. I have mentioned this as the resemblance started to make me think of what might be happening.
I have attached a pdf on the subject of loop antennas, you will see at the end that they are used for other things.
NAR is usually quite low frequency, in the khz, and NMR is above 100Mhz, both use RF and sometimes NAR and NMR are used together (there is quite a fine line difference).

The aluminum tape there is winded into same direction as coils and is not shorting loop in any direction.
The tape is plus side of capacitor inside of TPU and the minus is Litz wire.

To create the electrostatic anode, there are two ways:
1) wind the core vertically with e.g. 1 inch wide tape and do not allow the edges to touch or you will have a shorted turn that will affect the induction of the other windings and cause heating and non operation. Leave about 1/16 inch spacing between winds. This will have more inductance than method #2 but should not affect operation.

2)To minimize inductance, allow the vertical winds to overlap by 1/16 inch but then you will have to cut a horizontal slot in the foil for the full 360 degrees on the inside or outside of the device circumference. The slot need be no more than 1/16 inch. See attached drawing.

The consumed power input is 19V 60-70W to electronics and control coils. The bulb( he did not say power rating but I could assume it as 60-100W) is only on half brightness because there is not enough voltage on output - about 110V instead 220V.
They will make another toroid as this was made quickly only to prove if circuit can work at all and is missing Litz wire and correct output voltage.
The magnet will not have any sense with this type of TPU as control coils are the ones responsible the for making very strong magnetic field in rotation.
For video translation you might ask Wesley kindly yourself.

My sig gen is stand alone, no grounding. The reason I say is, Im not sure yet if actual 'grounding' affects the working of the circuit, as when I just touch my hand on the coils surface or touch wires, output diminishes. So grounding may hinder operation. A 555 can work here Im sure.
Considering the 3 strands are equal, when I input around 10khz square 4v dc biased, I get near 50v out of the series bifi. If 2v in, 11v out. ??? :o Out vs in is not linear. Im thinking possibly over 200v out with 12v in. Have not tried yet. But so far it seems as the input increases, the output is magnified by some factor. Will find out soon what factor that is. ;D
What is interesting is when I disconnect and reconnect the output bifi, Im not seeing any significant loading on the input on the scope. Well, the only current flow if any is into a 3.5nf capacitance at 10khz. 10.125khz is the freq the bifi resonates at its peak.
I dont know if this is the kicks SM was talking about, but its pretty cool to see capacitive action happen in a transformer, being the primary is open ended, other than capacitive connection of the trifi windings. I have another winding of a bit thicker wire underneath the trifi, but using it as an open ended input, output is nill. Need to try that at higher freq thinking about it, as the capacitance between a trifi strand and the under winding, is .5nf. But the bifi wont work at that freq. But I will try.
Polarity of the sig + and - and which end of the strands to attach them to, I need to look very closely at my transformer to see what is actually what as to which end of each strand is which.
Im trying to get all that together to have a final hookup scheme and do a vid.
But I just wanted to throw this out there. I just put the thing back on the table last nite with some thoughts I had at work about it.
Back when I did the test as Bruce suggested, I seemed to dismiss that my output was pretty decent considering 2v sq in 10v out. Doesnt add up does it. ;)
I wouldnt say there is much current flow from the input, but 10khz through a 3.5nf could possibly be an overall bit of back and forth current flow.
The output of the bifi remains a sine wave while loading the cap. I figured there would be cut tops and bottoms but no. Just a sine ever increasing till the cap is full.
Higher input voltage may be promising. :)

That was the experiment I was trying when I blew up my scope !! :-[
I tried using a simple 12 V to 240 inverter applied to the reverse open ends of a 35/35 to 240 V torroidal transformer. Could rapidly charge up a cap from the output FWBR !!
My accident came when I tried another approach pulsing a fully charged 350 v cap onto one leg..... I inadvertently clipped the scopes earth onto the wrong leg !! :'(

What I find very interesting is that it depends on phase connections to either the open ended 3rd strand, or depending on where the neg is placed on the bifi. It sorta shows me that there is actual current flow in the open ended strand. Current flow as in compressing and decompressing charge/electrons in the open ended wire itself. Kinda like how an AV plug works with 1 wire.
Will do some more tests tonight.

Some corrections.
The wire is 26awg. RS green. Red is 30awg. My mistake. :-\
Also, I made a mistake in saying the input was dc square wave. Getting more familiar with the menu base, it is push/pull. The actual voltage is 3.8 p-p 1.9v+/- . It makes more sense to me this way anyhow and one less thing to figure out why. C.C :)
I had a cap with 1 lead soldered to the bifi from another project. The other cap lead was not connected. Once I finally removed the cap as I didnt need it, my freq of resonance changed to 9.8khz. Im going to solder it back on to confirm that was what changed things. If so, this thing is sensitive. ;)
Im going to remake a transformer for this project made from RS snap ferrite cores and RS wire so anyone could make one with similar results.

Sorry, in a rush at lunch here. With same input, 65v out now. Maybe the cap connected 1 lead affected things negatively.
Also, each strand is 1.45ohm. Forgot to mention that earlier.

We can look at the 3 inductors as if they were wound trifilar and the bottom connections of the 3 inductors are the start of the trifi winding leads, and the top leads are of the last turn of the trifi coil. ;)

I have been looking at your diagram and thinking about what is happening, this is only a close eyes and see what might be happening ;D
1) The open end feed coil really is a capacitive coupling with the other two coils, the dielectric being the insulation (very thin).
2) Your running at an AC frequency and not pulsed DC, so you are building a charge between the coils and at some point the air between the windings breaks down.
3) This breakdown is infact a plasma, as in dielectric barrier breakdown, you may not see it, but happens.
4) This breakdown comes with a high current, but mostly disipated in the plasma, but I think a higher voltage than the input is left, which goes to charge the cap through the FWBR.
I might try this with some high voltages, I can run DBD's here @ up to 100kv :D

I just found my stash of snap cores from RS. They are like 8-9 bucks a pair, so I was more diligent to find what I had. ;)
Using 2 pairs, Im making an Ecore that anyone can get. The transformer with the green wire in the pic is the one I used so far. The 6 legs, starting from the top, in strand 1, out strand 1, in strand 2, out strand 2, in strand 3, out strand 3, and the jumper puts strand 1 and 2 in series bifi. All 3 strands were wound at the same time, trifi.

My first assumption of the ratio between in and out, as the input voltage is increased is the fact that the in is sharp and quick to charge the winding capacitance. I will check with a sine wave to see what that ratio is. Its not a normal transformer ratio. It might be at some lower input at some point. I stuck with the square due to its apparent higher output, but trying all things can help with better understanding.

I am following with great interest !! Have you got a simple audio amplifier lying around ? Old stereo etc. ? That is what I use for a sine wave from my SG !! But I think you will find that a square wave or rapid pulses will work better !!

I have been trying to get my totally passive STEAP circuit up and running for a christmas video. I have it running but not feeding back as I want, it's output is running a 230v 3watt LED bulb drawing 35ma brighter than if plugged into the mains.
Maybe have it finished tomorrow and video it

Yes, RadioShack. ;D The new transformer Im winding, I want to make a coil with 6(edit corrected from 9) strands. It can be configured as a 3 strand by using the strands in pairs, or try to use 2 'open ended' strands as possible input to electrically isolate the in out. But with all the capacitance going on, isolation may be futile. ;) It just gives more versatility without a rebuild to try many things.
I use thin superglue to put the core pieces together. It seeps into the space between the cores while holding them together. Trying to put the pieces after glue application may not give time to align them so the 2 ecore halves mate properly. Hobby shops have very thing super glue, and some Ace hardware carry what is called Chair Fix. Thin like alcohol. The core pieces have nice smooth surfaces, so very little gap if any.
Square wave is what seems to work best so far. With the new transformer, Im going for lower freq than 10khz having more turns and more capacitance.
Someone at OU put together an air core, but not all turns are trifi and he is grounding the other end of the input I believe. His ratio of in out isnt making the substantial changes that mine is doing.

Many years ago when I was in your town, used to have family in Boca Ratan close by, living in a condo with water ways and parking for boats. I remember we stayed in a spar with a golf course which I played but being careful of the aligators :o

Was slow charging a 9v batt last night. ;D Red trace is the 4vpp 'almost' square wave , and the green is the bifi secondary out before bridge using times 10 'probe' ^-^ so that trace is 10 times as small as actual voltage, where the red trace is 1x.

Then make 4 pieces of middle wire(try Litz wire for total diameter up to few milimeters for amperage) into ring of collector coil and put 4 coils like in there on the ring. Then start activating control coils one after another with overlap of 1/4 from duty cycle of square wave from each coil like in http://www.teslauniverse.com/img/patents/1354x0/00555190-1.jpg Fig. 1
Then watch for effects on the scope while making virtual spinning magnetic field around the ring... ;)
If you get desired kicks just fill ring with 1 more coil around with single layer(the winding is on same direction as control coils) and connect in series with collector coil then repeat experiment. This additional coil should start making voltage with series of amperage kicks on ring.

I think I found one of my sensitivity issues. My core was not glued or solidified with the bobbin. I could hear the near 10k freq when in resonance. I had used tie wraps to hold the core pieces together, so that I could easily make changes later. But that was then, and the ties wraps have loosened up a bit. For now, I put a wedge in to tighten the tie wrap, Now I get 70+v and res freq is 9388khz. Seems very consistent now. It had me going for a bit. There was a point where I could only get 21v out and couldnt figure out why. C.C I had one of those episodes, Why is this happening?????? Everything is going backwards!!>:( :-\ ;D
Another thing I found is if I switch the sig lead to the other end of the open ended strand, the res freq changes to 16.8khz, where I didt see that earlier. Both freq seem to put out the same, still using the 4vpp square. Sine wave does work, but output is diminished some. But a square wave puts out more average power than a sine, so. C.C
When I set up the gen for a low freq pulse, the output bifi definitely oscillates for some time.
Tomorrow Im going to try 2 open strands and 1 strand output, just to see what happens. maybe nothing. Will connect the gen + to one end of an open ended strand, and the - to the opposite end of another open ended strand.

I have a question for electronics guru : can Nchannel mosfet be placed freely between coil and power source ? For example now I have a situation when coil is connected by one end to the positive of DC power source then the second terminal of coil is connected to drain of mosfet and then source of mosfet directly to the ground connection of power source. I'd like to move coil between ground and source of mosfet but my older experiments indicate that N-mosfet do not work properly in such situation. Am I right ?
Then the rotary mechanical switch is better option imho, considering that it may be placed in any position in circuit and considering that P-channel mosfets are limited in max Rds voltage and too high resistance

Hi guys I'm going to have a go at this thing but magnetic engineering is not a strong point of mine and my approach may seem a little retarded to you , Mike knows well I research the Man for quite some time before ever I consider going anywhere near any claims Steve Mark and his boyfriend are quite hard to track I guess they didn't want to be tracked. I'm sure Steve would have released information to his investors but there is now a security clamp on him, He and his attorney were told in no uncertain terms .. This machine is no longer anything to do with you any communication verbal or written regarding will introduce Steve to a porridge diet for quite a while.(or worse) .. (I'm sure you know the sort of thing Mike, In fact I know you do)
Any way I have some Idea of how this thing works and I'm quite sure your quite convinced what your doing works too .. anyway here's what I'd like to know a little about , and why Its an area I'm woefully ignorant in and if this bit wont fit non of the rest will .
Steve's place of employment was a top end loud speaker manufacture . He was engaged in the assembly and research and development and of course the all important frequency response of loudspeakers, It is no doubt quite obvious to you after a little thought that a loudspeaker is really nothing more than a transducer that is it transfers an AC transverse complex waveform into a linear sound wave, because of course the loud speaker cone simply goes back and forth , This in turn is a magnetic action. And so at some stage a magnetic material is required that will respond over a fairly narrow spectrum of the human hearing range. The top end of which is about 20 Khz (not for us Mike It drops pretty with age) I'm afraid :-[ the last time I took any notice of top end loud speakers the magnetics were very big and very heavy , However Magnetic substances have advanced out of all recognition what hasn't changed of course is the human ear ! As far as volume goes the human ear is a rare beast in nature .. It is in fact the only thing in nature I can think of that follows a base of log10 .. which of course is why variable Pots are common to a log scale , In order to double the sound level you perceive you must output Ten times the power . (Which Is why Rock concerts damage the ear pretty rapid) anyway because of this power response curve and the frequency response you can get to a pretty good Idea of where a Loudspeakers best frequency response has to be centred and its in the area of 5khz to 8 or 9 Khz .. give or take a little of course,and the quality of the speaker ect, now I think you'll find that Steve Marks operated in this range . Ergo the same substance which he had access to has been used to fashion the toroid, Which could well be an exotic I have never heard of . As a loudspeaker manufacturer there would have been the facilities to press the sintered materials and they would have had a selection ! Now for what I have conceived to work required a 'soft magnetic' material also with good inductive capacity and I thought I had a workable concept , but then I watched a video where Steve cuts the toroid in half .. I'm sure you've had a hard look at that ! I cant see anything I would know as a magnetic core there but there has to be one. That technologies advanced out of all recognition so any idea's what it may be?

I too would like to do something with this. I have been reading up, and there is a lot, but I am sure 90% is rubbish.
I have had a thought on this for a long time and that is to do with a magnetic loop antenna, as the name suggests, it is more magnetic than other antennas and creates a high voltage and current in the loop, also forming a huge near field (look up how a magnetic transmitting loop works, there is plenty on the net). We go back a few years when we met in the good old US of America, where I gave a talk on this subject.
I never really looked at this TPU, was not my field, or so I thought, now I'm not so sure, things are starting to link together the more I read from different sources, not just the SM notes, but McFreey, Michael Meyer amongst others. I know what can be done by heterodyning frequencies with the right split and phasing angle, and it generates a lot of heat in the material in which they mix "why heat" because of the molecular vibration, and if you can use an alloy it will be even better I think, though the heat we do not want, only the thrown out electrons.

I wouldn't have in the past, but not so sure now, it would seem logical to me to gain energy, I just can't see getting such a high voltage from magnetic induction into such a small collection coil. I can create around 800v in a single turn magnetic loop at around 2amps though (it would be 90 degrees out of phase though). Always the possibility of going into phase, and I would not like to be by it if it did :D
There is still a lot to learn about magnetic loops, and the Ham guy's no more than most O0
