Tesla coils with Pick-up coils; Don Smith, Zilano; TK

  Around 1900, Nikola Tesla had a dream.  It was realized in part in his Wardenclyffe facility (photo).  He sought to arrange for free, limitless energy to be sent wirelessly to all people around the globe (photo).  It could not be metered, and J.P. Morgan cut off funding to this brilliant inventor, and made other investors stay away from him; and basically destroyed his good name with the public.  Tesla suffered a nervous breakdown and his momentum and dream were gone...  He died in 1943, alone and all but forgotten.  (All of this from a BBC vid, "Tesla - the Lost Wizard".)

 Now his dream is being revived as we seek the same goal of limitless energy for mankind.  (While avoiding suppression by the JP Morgan's of the world...)

As I've studied his Wardenclyffe dream facility, it appears to be a giant Tesla coil.  Receivers of the power might be pick-up coils, tuned somehow to the mother station.  (Other speculations are welcome.)

This brings me to Andrew's experiments and ideas that he shared with me and Les Kraut last week, and which I hope he'll share here.

Andrew (= Armagdn03) did a vid some time ago, "Fun with LCs", which he showed to us:  A Tesla secondary coil with primary and pick-up coil.  Driven -- not by a neon-sign HV source and spark gap -- but by a signal generator.  By changing freq, he shows how the resonant behavior of the Tesla coil + pick-up coil.  

He talked about standing waves, resonance, and 1/4 waves...

This, to me, is the beginning of understanding of how an ou device -- Tesla's dream -- might come from  a Tesla coil + pick-up coil + RESONANCE/standing waves. (In Physics, we talk about the relationship of standing waves and resonance conditions.)

That's enough to get this subject started -- the Don Smith thread at EF is huge now... I've read some of it...
Help requested...  Is this a viable approach?  Does anyone have a working ou device of this type?

Steve, Wardenclyffe would have been the future, would have been and still will be, in my opinion.
Tesla used a different system within, than his earlier tower work.

What many build as a "Tesla tower' is in fact not how Wardenclyffe ran.
Underneath the tower at Shoreham were tunnels and the system was intended to 'shake the very earth', rather than HAARP the sky to pieces !
We see huge lightning bolt streaks emitting from towers and, yet, that's the inverse of what Tesla wished to see. If Tesla saw a leaping lightning bolt from Wardenclyffe, then the thing needed work !
The energy was supposed to be curtailed at the top (where the dome sat) and returned back down into the Ground  - relating to earlier discussions within the emails of this group
As I understand it, the earth itself can be and was considered as a giant capacitive plate conductor. The air above being the other plate (especially the ionosphere). Communications would work, partly, in the 1 wire way...energy being transmitted within the earth.


Extra stuff, but relating to my own fascination, which I hope is in resonance with wishes of the thread.
Energetic Forum was joined, after seeing vids by many who referenced that particular forum. What I was watching, were videos relating to wireless energy. The whole jist of which, was to understand how I might attain another of Tesla's dreams, wireless electric flight.

The following includes chat to AllCanadian in the self powered coil thread...but relates here.
In recent months i've not focused on flight, at all really, preferring to spend as much time as my immigration process is allowing, to further all elements of resonance, oscillations, power transference and alternative methods that are related.
But Tesla's energy work is always behind the experiments....wireless flight will be attained.
If we can successfully power little models without onboard power, then we can further that solution, scale it, for real world applications. Let alone that a reduction in weight can be achieved without fuel or batteries.

Those videos are the only ones where supposed 'science fair' students will regularly send me emails asking how to build such a device ! Work through that one and one may gain the thoughts that in actuality these are cellphone companies. After I outline the method, but not the exact materials, I never do get a follow up or even a thank you from such persons !

Most of the info I have brought you guys came via Bruce.

The circuit diagrams were given by Don Smith to Bruce via email just before he went in to have major surgery on his arteries. Bruce knows far more than Don, believe me on that one!!!

They were very good friends but had a conflict of interest although they respected each other greatly.

Bruce was giving a lecture at the 1996 Symposium.

Been having good success recently, with the circuit at the bottom of this page:

Power source is a small solar panel, sat under the work table light. Or, a salts cell that uses cuprous oxide i.e. burnt copper
It runs on under a volt and 2mA, using any NPN with high hFE. An increase in speaker volume is obtained using a Sziklai 2nd transistor which is a 2SA733 (more efficient than Darlington pair).
I'd like to build up the receiver circuit in the PDF's and see if no power was needed at all. It's pretty close now, so is worth a go.

Extending that and linking the areas is exciting. I really hope this is more than a standard crystal set type collector and that the valve works.
I also wonder if the valves in Tesla's Pierce Arrow, hold a trait similar to those of Moray and Perreault.

I haven't been following the thread because I too found it confusing but I understand it to be Tesla type in nature.

I see a problem with this direction of development.

The devices we use today are not compatible with this form of power and so we will need to have very high efficiencies in the production of this power, to allow for the losses that will be inevitable in the translation equipment needed to convert it to our normal electricity. I don't think this can be done without massive investment. This equipment does need to be developed but so will the translation equipment otherwise it will be of little use.

The translation devices are mostly capacitors which are not economical ways of storing power and so may be cost prohibitive on large scale devices if we do not get a better way of doing it. Our system we use today is an on demand system and so energy is not stored.

Before we can get this type of energy production accepted we need some devices that clearly show that it can be done in a practical way and this where most devices fall down.

I believe it is the same energy that gives us the gain in resonance, inductive kickback and transformer actions. These Tesla type devices produce the energy in its purer form whereas we need "normal" electricity.

Yes I believe it can be done but it wont be accepted until it is made practical. Devices such as the Lockridge and the Gray motor are the stepping stones we need to make this type of energy practical on a smaller scale first.
