Gents,

This is fun research -- and it should be fun!  interesting stuff.
I came across some vids that I'd like to ask about, Ring of batteries around magnet – which spins... you have to see it... short:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBZTXdf7c-o&feature=related

The inventor Dany's website:  http://danyk.wz.cz/index_en.html

Can someone do a quick replication of this one?  I'll see if I can find a good bearing (instead of the mirror and lens, or are these important to operation??)

Also these vids by TinManPower I've been watching -- and a rather new forum is listed; interesting stuff:
2 Batteries charging a third

Charging battery, single ssg coil

TinManPower

TinManPower

New forum where tinmanpower posts more details:

COMMENTS, PLEASE!

And this, re: cold fusion is interesting
"If we’ve learned anything from the cold fusion debacle, it’s that a quick announcement of a scientific advancement or finding may be a lot of fanfare without substantiated and careful evaluation. This tendency to share too soon is fueled by the very human nature of scientists"

Focusing for a moment on the first vid,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBZTXdf7c-o&feature=related

So, are the batteries somehow supplying the power to make the magnet spin?
What if we replace the batteries with capacitors? More batteries? fewer?  higher voltage? etc.

I mean this is strange...  is the guy Dany tricking us somehow?
What makes the magnet spin in the CCW direction?

What if we mounted this magnet on a small generator, making it spin... how much power could one get from this?
Hmmm....

First let's see whether we can replicate the effect!

At first sight, the first video seems to be a total farce...but I do see the wonder about what on earth is going on.
Surely he simply has a motor spinning another magnet under the table ?  :-\
Surely ? well, if it was surely then the Earth would still be flat, so it's worth a laugh to find out, as you say.
However, do note the plethora of 9V batteries and the fact that both terminals are sticking up in the air...that tends to rubbish all thoughts on polarising magnetic fields wirelessly. Things would be different, slightly, if he had used all 1.5V regular cells.
The presumed reasoning for CCW, would be his location on the planet. Australia giving a CW direction, like water running out of a bath.

Regarding TinMan...enjoyable videos and i've seen a few of his. Lucklily I bought a bag of clip leads the other week - heck, try to fathom out the connections on that first vid of his  :D  :o
But the fella does seem to get interesting results.
The pancake coil of the last vid is the only really labour intensive thing in all of these. I'll set too with some replications and post 'Private' videos here on this thread :)
(Well, no actual need for 'Private', i'm thinking more for the peer responses of a replication of that first vid lol)

*Edit - being as I only have 1x 12V battery and 2x half rejuvenated car batteries, I might have to get some Alum first. The changeover to alkaline from acid is well documented and can bring back even batteries which Bedini desulfation struggles with (which is the case here, with both resting at about 10V). Doing the Alum thing may then produce 3x 12V batteries for TinMan's vid where 3 are needed.

Mark -- a little reflection lead me to the same conclusion -- that the ring of batteries vid is a farce. Trash-bin.

TinMan OTOH is more serious, and his Tesla coil more impressive.  Although currents of 1 mA when that is the best sensitivity he can get on those meters is not compelling, IMO.

Regarding the pancake coil video, when looking it up here: http://iaec.forumco.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=328
100 winds x 2 of 0.55mm wire. 0.55mm = 24 gauge, so i'll make it from 30 gauge and wind 120 turns on each. Otherwise, I have a small amount of 23 gauge, which is a lot closer, but it's doubtful there's enough for 200 winds.
CD's with their silvered surface removed will be used for the coil form.
The tower will be wound with 30 gauge (i'm guessing he used 24 gauge though) on 1/2" PVC pipe. Other prebuilt towers will be tried too.
12V supply will be a converted PC power supply.
12V batt will be a RadioShack model 1250
Scope will be a Protek 6502 - 20MHz

Meters that will be used - 1x Innova 3300 (resolution 1uA on 2000uA scale, SE MM6162L (resolution 1uA on 200uA scale and 2 of them if I can find a 9V batt to go in the other one). I'd prefer to use the 2 of them anyway, being the same model.

Anyone actually with 4 meters would do better I guess. However, everyone needs a better excuse than Shrove Tuesday to make a pancake :)

Great!  glad to see you're jumping in on this build, Mark.  And with better meters.
IIRC, his primary coil was wound BIFILAR, which I think is important to the replication.
I haven't followed what frequency he used to excite the primary -- can you elucidate that for me?

You know, I doubt that there is a set frequency  :o
A solid state Tesla or Bedini setup normally runs as fast as its little legs will carry it. Standard solid state Tesla towers operate between 2MHz and 5MHz and mostly it's a function of the propagation around the whole circuit.  The 3055 large can transistors in TinMan's videos will run up to about 2MHz and that would be an upper limit therefore of that setup.
For 1mA he may as well use a MPSA06/2N2222 or something, but the 3055's are certainly excellent for thermal handling with the big cases.
I'll be using as close to those as I have. Certainly got quite a few salvaged power transistors.
A single wind pancake would be rubbish yep, bifilar is a whole different animal....my Nephilim Penny LED oscillator has a bifilar, made from a dozen old PC modem cables, so all is cool that way.

Just to mention, I forgot my recent purchase of a Sears meter in the above and it does read Hz...so that will be used and I will have 4 meters. The mA readings will come from the MM6162L's :)

One thing comes to mind...I wonder why the wireless field isn't mentioned.
Unless, of course, there is none, with using a SSG circuit instead of a solid state switcher. Will be fun to find out.

Working on some of the parts for the pancake coil video...
The two CD's were stripped of the silvery coatings easily and with a method of hopeful use to others. Taking an exacto knife, I lightly scored a couple of times near one edge, to break the coating. Then, clear packing tape was put as a strip on the surface, which was then fingernail scrubbed to better the adhesion (same as covering the leading edge of a model aircraft wing for ding protection). Then a pull of the tape back off the surface removes the coating :)
I cut a piece of 1/2" PVC pipe, from the failed attempts plumbing repair lengths still in our backyard.
A water bottle cap looks similar to what Tinman put on the top of his secondary and, while it isn't needed, it was as easy to find as opening a bottle a water to go in my coffee maker.

Update - tower wound. 400 turns of 30 gauge, 11 ohms

The bifilar pancake coil is now finished.
180 winds of 23 gauge wire. I hadn't made one using the 2xCD method before and felt I may have made a mess. It doesn't sit completely straight within the CD's, because the epoxy to keep the middle of the CD's together stuck a little oddly.
Still....it works fantastically !

In the video below, i'm using the circuit and coil that was previously shown to power 2x magnetic levitators. So the circuit and coil are proven in those vids.
The green LED lights with the collapsing field energies and so seemed ideal to test with.
Using the new bifilar pancake, the strength of those energies from a 1.2V Ni-MH battery nearly busts the LED with the brightness !

Here's the short video:  http://youtu.be/xjGxmxkB2Rg

Pic of the pancake coil and tower below.

Wow -- that green LED glows VERY brightly!  well done, Mark.
I appreciate your effort to video this ongoing project.

Looking forward to the next step... with the Tesla Tower!

Nice work -- Your coils look very much like TinMan's:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPWVbTk5Z9Q&feature=related

Found myself putting TinMan's video on 'Fullscreen' and measuring against the monitor screen for the tower height lol
Thanks for the encouragement, it's a quirky setup and quite fascinating.

A test circuit was built last night and today, to see how it would run, as a solid state Bedini device. The idea was to first see if it would run and secondly, to use low power as a reference to the full 12V seen in TinMan's video.
I haven't found the specific wirings of his circuit yet and was worried too that I might quickly fry the LED..
Having never built a solid state Bedini circuit, the one that Minoly posted recently on Energetic Forum was used as a reference. However, that circuit seemed to suffer from updated components and swaps and changes within the thread, which left me unsure as to the specifics again with that one. In the end, I went with a hybrid of components and wiring, similar to a usual magnet wheel based setup. All needs work, all is in a state of flux, as it were.
Immediately apparent, on firing up with a li-ion cell, was that the pancake needed flipping - the tower is wound counter clockwise, so the pancake needed to be clockwise...it's just how these Tesla setups roll.
Then, wahay, the neon lit up :D
Charging is possible to a 12V battery !
Also, the circuit will run and the LED light up, right down to using a 1.2V Ni-MH.
The down side is the current at the moment, which is about 170-200mA when using the li-ion...so it's nowhere near the 1mA figure yet.
But, i'm not using a 12V source yet. Mind you, Bedini says you should be drawing 2A when charging a 12V car battery, so I guess it's not really a bad circuit. Will desolder that one and move toward 12V and a better circuit replication.

Quick video, showing a few tests:
http://youtu.be/wWOCC1FW968

*Update - found an MJE3055 (newer plastic package version of the transistor in the TinMan video). Soldered it up and...nothing  :-\
Looks like it's blown. So, i'm back to the C4242. These have a healthy 400V rating and yet fire right down to AA battery specs, so they are good for this :)
If I get favourable results tomorrow, then an MJE13009 and more will be tried, to ascertain whether a particular transistor displays different low current effects than another.

*Update 2 - Back to the C4242, but otherwise exactly what I understand to be a normal SSG circuit, with trigger to Positive rail, rather than Negative rail as described for the magnet wheel devices. Reviewing the video and related discussion thread, the resistor was changed to 10 ohms.
I have the green LED rather than a diode across the Base and Emitter, otherwise it's as TinMan has his and the function is the same, to limit the voltage across the Base.
A 150K pot is used, with his being unknown.
Power is from a 12V 4A regulated switching supply that i've cleaned up. It seems to be a 1970's model, still runs well though :)
A test was run just now and it used 230mA  on the input, the pot was twizzled and for a brief moment, with meter set to the 2mA scale, my meter read 1.157mA. However, the neon wouldn't light at that low an amperage ???
The neon lights fine, when the circuit is running much nearer to the 230mA.
My scope shows a sawtooth - though I have a ghosting above the image and so the scope may need attention.
Removing the battery connection shows a rippled sine wave and that's been a bug in operations that I haven't worked out...it's mains hum coming through I believe, because touching the probe lightly with my finger produces something similar.
A video is unfortunately not possible of this setup...on returning the pot to a level that would light the neon, my meter went flying past the 200mA draw level and a small 'pop' was heard from within. Sounded like the protection fuse blew and I hope it's got one fitted  :-[

Thoughts
------------
TinMan appears to have made an error in his device hookups. KyleCarrington mentions on the YouTube comments, that the output voltage reading is dependent on the battery actual charge level and, we're not seeing anything other than that. Tinman is correct that 1mA will be so light that the resting voltage will be shown, but that's not the voltage he's creating and going in from the system, it's, the resting voltage of the battery !
Caveat, the arrangement he has is definitely better than mine and so is his test gear, so the 1mA neon lighting is still up for debate.
All in all, the pancake and tower DO create a Bedini trigger and a waveform is shown on the scope, denoting charge output. It has shown to be a great step up transformer too. However, the issues remain of the output figures and connections that TinMan shows in his video.

Pic below of the closer replication:

Very interesting, this fits in with my radiant energy theory. the batteries are polarizing the radiant field causing radiant to flow in a field, in this case it would be resembling a torus. A magnet has been demonstrated to have a rotating field so it makes sense that the magnet would be forced to rotate when in a flow that has an effect on it.

here is something I wrote on my idea of radiant

"Imagine a ping pong ball with a small bar magnet going through it from equator to equator, now imagine electrically charged poles set at 90 degrees to the magnet poles and gravitational poles set at 90 degrees to the other two. Now imagine that the surface of the ping pong ball has a force field strong enough to keep it apart the other similar ping pong balls. Just think what a swimming pool full of these ping pong balls sort of floating equidistant from each other and the interactions they would have. Now imagine a wind constantly causing turbulence between them, that's how I see the aether although there may be other forces with poles as yet undiscovered in the ping pong balls too.

Now imagine that two balls manage to get close enough together that the opposite poles can now overcome the repelling force of the surface, be it electrical, magnetic or gravitational. If enough of these come together it may become a photon and still more would make the sub atomic particles we know of. Now imagine what would happen in this sea if we introduce random forces such as electrical charges, magnetism and gravity. Quite a complex model isn't it?

Now imagine someone places a wire through it and runs current through it in pulses and also what would happen if someone coiled that wire. I think that this may be the way the aether interacts with inductors or something like that.

Now you have a picture of my aetheric model. I will introduce some oveunity concepts.

By creating a charge or dipole we can attract some of these aetheric ping pong balls with their electricl poles into our system and as the dipole is shut off these ping pong balls will shoot back out. If we pass a current through the wire it will cause the attracted poles to line up and move along the wire with the current, as the electrical poles are lined up so will the magnetic ones at 90 degrees to the electrical ones, causing the magnetic field around the wire. The gravitational poles are still random so no gravitational effects are seen.

The same will be true if we create a moving magnetic field, it will drag along electrons with the electrical poles lining up but at 90 degrees to the magnetic field. I am leaving gravity out of it at this stage as we will need a second force to bring that into play.

In either case the "free" thing is a force, not energy, at 90 degrees to the force we created and it will not be of the same type as what we created ie magnetic causes electrical and electrical causes magnetic. What gives us the energy is when we make the force do work, in other words when we make the force interact with matter. The free energy is when the force created is switched off and the aether goes back to its normal random interactions but momentarily interacting with matter. The movement caused by creating our force is what we had to pay for. Hopefully this explains what is happening in a Bedini circuit.

Now to make the free energy flow we can do it in two ways, the first is by creating standing waves in the aether by using oscillating circuits and using the potential difference to create a flow in our circuits. The second is actually simpler to do, when we charge a coil we pay to charge it by passing current through it, upon discharge we get more current for free only reduced in power by ohms law. As there is current flow there is a magnetic field created by the alignment of the aether with the discharge being for free. Remember that the only energy consumed was due to ohms law so if we collect the discharge in a capacitor and use it to power the next pulse with a little top up that we have to pay for. It is only the top up, ie losses due to ohms law; we have to pay for and NOT the load or work done by the aether."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SNN226xCSU&feature=player_embedded

This video, to me, is demonstrating a standing wave.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nxvLsXos_g&feature=channel

This is bipolar switching, by doing this we trap any energy in the coil no matter which direction it is flowing and there does seem to be a component flowing in either direction.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPWVbTk5Z9Q&feature=player_embedded

here it looks as if we have a more efficient coil for collecting radiant, it would be interesting to combine this with the bipolar switching.

On the cold fusion debate, whats the debate? I thought that it has been proven and replicated.

Couldn't resist the batteries one...so, here's my trial of it !

End result, absolutely diddly squat zilch  >:-)
However, it's amazing where you find batteries when looking around the house...I have 2 more spare 9V now lol

Try it with a more powerful ferrite magnet, ferrite's have a huge magnetic field and this may make a difference. I tried with a compass and got nothing but most of the batteries were depleted too. We should use the 9v and 1.5v too.

Have you tried the Bedini Hamel spinner? I use it as a party trick but I have never had it spin continuously. I have been able to detect the spin with a nearby coil on my scope but having said that there is always a slight oscillation in the spinners I have used due to imbalance. Will it spin continuously? I doubt it, but it does demonstrate that there must be a rotation in the magnetic field.

I expect it works in a similar way to the spinner if indeed it does work.

I think Mark has done the right expt with the compass... but sure, testing with a neo wouldn't hurt...

A link to a good example of the spinner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW2hbMeod1o

I liked the music!   The spinner in the vid spins a long time, but stops finally...  Doesn't seem to prove much - right?

I'm particularly interested in the Tesla research -- let us know of further developments, Mark!

PS -- re: cold fusion, the low-level effects have been verified and published, yes -- see attached for references and data.
The question remains regarding very-HIGH-level cold fusion; enough to produce commercial power... e-cat claims are still "up in the air" IMO.
But I await further data from them!  and Defkalion (SP?).

As I understand it neo's have a small but intense field, ferrite has a large but not so intense field, to me ferrite would be the obvious choice. In the video it looks like a ferrite magnet to me.

The spinner does not prove anything in itself but for me the anomaly of rotation has to be caused by something. when you do this experiment, sometimes the magnet stops and reverses rotational direction for no apparent reason. I don't know of an explanation but the question is, can it be tapped for energy?

You do raise some thoughts Mike, that nearly everybody is really very ready to dismiss...that of field interactions. We can't see the fields, noone is aware of magnetic fields around us because we can't see them. Only when we can view the effects with a magnetically responsive object can we see them.
So, it's easy to skip over what doesn't look possible - and that is where the textbooks win out.
Clanzer's spinner is a great demo of the magnet only motor principle. His work is always eye candy no matter what he does, Even in that vid, his choice of music was quite perfect, the way it built up as you realise that the thing is spinning longer than it ought to, then decays and ends very sweetly for the end of the run.
Such motors I do believe are possible...the traditional sticky spot (where in the vid he removes one magnet) is where I want to try a coil that oppositely opposes that Lenz type effect. The idea, is that the rotation of a rotor builds up a small charge in a coil, which is mounted slightly before that exact dead spot. At a trigger point under the spot, a reedswitch or mechanical light lever discharges that first coil into a second coil which is mounted exactly on the dead spot. The energy is expelled, nullifying the otherwise limiting travel of the rotor. Acceleration is gained by virtue of the magnets track being a V shape. Bedini built one, though not using my twin coil idea (which comes from the ongoing self running coil replication) and he gave only a few details. Which, if you know how Bedini usually does things, means he probably held his chin with his hand and decided it was a bit too good to risk going public with. After all. following the demo of the 'Watson machine' many years ago, he was slammed up against a wall by dark suits and told he would always use gasoline.

But the thing is, i'd understand the batteries concept if there was a coil linking around the cells, would picture magnetics and field energies and even Earth field interactions. But they're just sat there, the 9V ones having both terminals in the air and every battery encased in metal anyway. It's not like anyone understands Ed Leedskalnin lol and yet there we have Coral Castle, so i'm not saying it's an impossibility. If anything, the 9V batts would be the dead spot area and then orientation becomes critical if Earth megnetics were at play. As in, the middle 9V would be pointing directly North ?
My quick go, used 1.5V and 9V to the same configuration as the video, but yes they weren't brand new or anything. Without a flat bar magnet, the compass was used. It's still sat as a circle, so i'll try a neo for sure :)

To make one is very simple but better geometry improves it. My simplest spinner is two circular magnets out of speakers, I place a ball bearing in the middle of one and sit that on a plate so that there will be low friction. I then bring the second magnet down towards the first so that they are in attraction, the first magnet lifts off the plate but the attraction is not yet enough to lift the ball bearing as well. The magnet and ball bearing begins to spin.

As I said, sometimes when it has stopped it reveres direction and runs the opposite way.

I understand how if the two magnets are not in perfect vertical alignment this tangential force could cause the magnet to spin but the spin continues for much longer than you would expect just to balance this vertical alignment, there must be another input. Maybe it is gravity but it could be the magnets themselves.

John Bedini showed an example in the video energy from the vacuum 11. He also demonstrates polarity and deliberately reverses the direction of rotation and explains it in a simplified way. In this video he uses a a ring of magnets in a particular geometry instead of an identical magnet to attract the spinner.

My quick go, used 1.5V and 9V to the same configuration as the video, but yes they weren't brand new or anything. Without a flat bar magnet, the compass was used. It's still sat as a circle, so i'll try a neo for sure :)

Its very interesting stuff and I don't pretend to understand it all but the spinning magnetic field does seem to explain it to some extent. If the battery video is real the implications are this, either the field produced by the battery is dynamic, or the field produced by the magnet is, but only if the video is real. If it is the magnetic field is dynamic then we can make a magnet motor where we don't need to input any energy ourselves.

I believe electrical fields and magnetic fields are at 90 degrees to each other and just as in a normal electric motor all we have to do is get the geometry right and the mechanical energy can be extracted.

This is all worth investigating.

This is really interesting stuff. My understanding of the Hamel spinner is based on Edward Leedskalnin's book on magnetism (included below), Howard Johnson and The Bedini video.
and what they are talking about is what a lot of people refer to as the spin theory. In the video referred to, the idea was that flipping over the wheel, would cause the rotation to change directions.
Here is how to make one.

If you are conventionally trained this stuff really sounds ridiculous, but it's well worth the exploration.

Thanks for the links, Les.   At one of them, I found this title intriguing:

Quote
Rusty McClure, is one of the New York Times best-selling authors of ... Cincinnatus: The Secret Plot To Save America, a novel that features Coral Castle.

"The Secret Plot To Save America"  -- lol.   We have to keep it secret, our efforts to "save America."  There is some truth to that...  and I think this is what we are indeed trying to do -- save America and really many other nations with a novel energy source.
E.g., Japan desperately needs something other than nuclear and fossil fuels...
