I've uploaded a demonstration video of the following to YouTube,
I don't want to be showing something of a dud, as though it's something new !
So, l would welcome your trusted opinions on this circuit, before making the video 'Public'.
Or, in other words, i'm quite excited about a possible discovery, but it may be so much blah and have been fully dealt with ad nauseum since 1850.
The Bow-Tie coil, is so called, because of its shape.
Consisting (in this embodiment, as they say) of 25 turns of 30 gauge wire, it forms 2 triangular connected coil sections.
A second coil, is of 25 winds of the same wire on to a piece of ferrite.
Depending upon where the second coil is placed and which way up it is placed, dictates which triangular side makes the LED light.
If the LED is on, turning the ferrite upside down will extinguish the LED.
That characteristic works 180 degrees differently on each side.
But - the Bow-Tie coil remains energized, even without the second feedback coil triggering the LED to illuminate.
Operating voltage is 1.2V from an Ni-MH battery. Any 1.2V battery will work, but, any 1.5V battery will not !
Another reason for wondering is quite embarrassing in a way and not to be disclosed...this thing was shown running, as per the video, within a lucid dream last night. The 2 sides form half of a pyramid, if you mentally move the Bow-Tie. The 4 sides of a pyramid such as those at Giza being 2 of this sort of arrangement.
Here is the video:
