Dear Chet.

Sad news indeed.

John was, for me a great source of inspiration. One of the first devices I built was his SSG that actually worked first time. Nothing built since has proven to be as reliable!!

Well you know my sentiments, he's probably chatting with dear old Nikola, no more secrets that side of the fence.

I think it was a heart attack, his brother, Gary, was very ill and living with John, they were very close brothers, I think it was the shock, I may be wrong.

The last I heard bearden was in a home, not sure he is still alive, John I think was my age +- 66 in two months, Peter Lindman is exactly my age and we have the same birth date, 11th jan 1951.

Mark E, will probably never be revealed, I know people that know but will not say!

FWIW, I have been following the mentioned fellows offerings since the mid-80's when I first heard of his work. Wide eyed and awe filled, I purchased the attached paper back then from Borderland Research if I recall correctly.

The paper makes great claims for high COP's, but has never been replicated to my knowledge. If it worked it could have solved the energy crisis a long time ago. Thousands have experimented with what is mentioned in the paper, including myself, with negative results.

I put this paper into the category of pulp pseudoscience. His association with Tom Bearden may even predate the 1984 date of the paper. IMHO, they were part of a tautology with a few others that never sought nor received rigorous scientific review.

I could speak volumes, but out of respect for the recently deceased I will be quiet now.

I am still wide eyed and awe filled, but much more careful about what I tend to believe without proof.

I remember visiting his website(s) in the early 1990's  (when I first became aware of the internet)  and tried some of the experiments (with null results)

regardless,  we must keep the torch burning for the next generation.   Free energy research is not only exciting and educational (what not to try)  but can be rewarding should we stumble on a viable source.

now if only SM would kick the bucket!

I'm guessing he already did, although I have not found an obit for him. I can find no resemblance to anyone that looks like SM on MM's facebook page of friends or look alikes, but did not search all. Will have to try Doleshal's FB page if he has one.

JB came out with a sonic clarifier that supposedly removed all the static electricity from a CD so it would play with far better audio quality because the error correction software would not have to interpolate bits.

I use CD's all the time for data storage and rarely if ever have file corruption due to missing bits. Common sense says the claim is BS. I believe that device is a fraudulent offering to the audio community.
