How OU is a Plasma Globe with power takeoff coil on top---if at all...?

Everyone, take a look at this:
Temporary Announcement:
Because my daily and monthly schedule(s) are becoming hectic, I may not post to these threads for an indefinite period of time.  I do have an active thread that I started on OU.com that requires a lot less time than the preparation this Forum does.  However, I realize that that site isn't this site, obviously.
This thread is an archive for me until I can devote time and money to it.  Members can post to it if they want to.

Is their setup, which looks a little like a Tesla coil circuit diagram, thusly...

http://www.personal.psu.edu/sdb229/plasma%20ball%20power%20supply.html

...something that a modified Tesla coil could stand in for a plasma power supply?

But how much power is available from such a setup?  Large or small coil atop the globe?  Step down transformers from the coil output, with rectifying diodes, to a set of batteries?  Power takeoff to an inverter to light your residence?  Recharge batteries?  At what voltage and current setting?  What else?

Later Reedit:
This is what else:

(this is a drawing of a power takeoff circuit from a globe, I think)
Here's the link to the drawing:

Note:
There's a small, specialty hardware store in an upscale part of San Francisco which sells a miniature plasma globe about 3" in dia. It'spowered by 4 AA batteries and goes for about $20.00.   Using low-powered test circuits is advantageous at first but very high ungrounded voltage levels can develop at the output coil leads.  It beats a lot more power from the wall, though.

This will be a sticky subject at the top of the page, since it's not something I have the money to acquire right now, and most likely high voltage parts will also be necessary to proceed.  As such, it's generally an archive thread for all to see and think about as well.

Reedit. 20 Aug, '11:  Added a 'Web drawing for a power takeoff circuit to a plasma globe.
Reedit, 22 Aug, '11:  Further clarification of additional options as to output schemes.
Reedit, 1 Sept, '11:   Added reference to a miniature plasma globe available to me here in San Francisco.  Plus spell check.

Does this not overlap with the Donald L Smith plasma globe device?

There are LRC circuits which need to be in resonance.

BEP

These links are unrelated to the works of Don Smith.

Don's target was obtaining useful energy from plasma.

These links are just examples of how to drive a plasma globe.

I suppose you could say they are related if you add a power output coil.

Good point, DeepCut  I found this as a reference:

http://www.free-energy-info.com/Smith.pdf
(look at page 4 of the manuscript)

He did several things with potential OU systems, but I think more attention should be paid to the likes of he plasma research.

Glad you asked.  Thanks.

Yes, it does.  I hadn't thought of that thread, since it was obscure in my memory from OU.com.  And I agree.  Resonance is usually required for many of Smith's devices.

Didn't smith use plasma tubes ?
Yes, he did - in addition to his plasma globe development. (And
a good few others, of course).
