The primary fields E,B,G move with the source but does not rotate on axis with it. Similar to why radiated light does not rotate with a rotating light bulb. The misconception of rotating fields came about because some people thought the field lines were real instead of imaginary as a form of notation.
I found it easier to simply discard the notion of a magnetic field and see it as a motional electric field. All magnetism is due to electron orbit and spin which is really no different than the electrons moving in circles in the conductors of a solenoid coil. The electron is made of even smaller particles moving in a circle within the electron as it spins. One could speculate that the subatomic particles within the electrons in a magnet are simply effecting other subatomic particles exterior to it giving the false appearance of a field or action at at distance. This theory was held by Nikola Tesla who believed all action was kinetic in it's nature. This theory would seem to hold water considering that were always discovering new particles smaller than we thought possible.
It could be that the smallest particles are massless which is just another way of saying not having the property of inertia. In effect, nothing "moves" as we perceive it and acts more like a pressure wave moving through water. This could be why the Michelson-Morley experiment did not detect an aether or fabric of space.
