I would like to start off with the glorious concept that the buying and selling of Carbon Tax will save the world...

However some of the die-hards in other threads never recognized  the lead British Columbia established. To correct this omission here, by a fellow Canuck, are the facts...

Still, BC's carbon pricing system is the best in North America and probably the world. The province has finished the nitty-gritty work of drafting statutes and regulations to implement the system. Oregon and Washington could do worse than to copy them, word for word, into their tax codes, then make adjustments needed to match circumstances. (Washington, for example, cannot rebate the carbon tax revenue through its income tax, because it does not have one. Instead, it could reduce sales and business taxes and provide rebates to low-income families

Both, the sun is doing some unusual things ATM, last week we were hit by an electromagnetic event that came from the sun. Not really bad, but bad enough to take out some electronics such as cell phone repeaters and TV repeaters in some areas. It also causes volcanic movement like the moon controls the oceans.

The World needs CO, but in a balance, that balance has been destroyed and getting worse. The UV levels have gone up in certain areas of the world. The general weather has also changed, as Tinman has said, open your eyes. I do not know how old anyone is, but I am 66 going on 67 and have seen a lot, not only on one country, but many, I now live in Spain and we have hit yet again an all time weather change record this year.

I could go on but I am tired from returning from my 1300km journy by car, maybe tomorrow, though have a lot to do over the next few days (37c here at 6:58 in the evening, 500mtrs up in the mountains)

A week after my colleague James Delingpole , on his Telegraph blog, coined the term "Climategate" to describe the scandal revealed by the leaked emails from the University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit, Google was showing that the word now appears across the internet more than nine million times. But in all these acres of electronic coverage, one hugely relevant point about these thousands of documents has largely been missed.
The reason why even the Guardian's George Monbiot has expressed total shock and dismay at the picture revealed by the documents is that their authors are not just any old bunch of academics. Their importance cannot be overestimated, What we are looking at here is the small group of scientists who have for years been more influential in driving the worldwide alarm over global warming than any others, not least through the role they play at the heart of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Professor Philip Jones, the CRU's director, is in charge of the two key sets of data used by the IPCC to draw up its reports. Through its link to the Hadley Centre, part of the UK Met Office, which selects most of the IPCC's key scientific contributors, his global temperature record is the most important of the four sets of temperature data on which the IPCC and governments rely – not least for their predictions that the world will warm to catastrophic levels unless trillions of dollars are spent to avert it.
Dr Jones is also a key part of the closely knit group of American and British scientists responsible for promoting that picture of world temperatures conveyed by Michael Mann's "hockey stick" graph which 10 years ago turned climate history on its head by showing that, after 1,000 years of decline, global temperatures have recently shot up to their highest level in recorded history.
Given star billing by the IPCC, not least for the way it appeared to eliminate the long-accepted Mediaeval Warm Period when temperatures were higher they are today, the graph became the central icon of the entire man-made global warming movement.

Since 2003, however, when the statistical methods used to create the "hockey stick" were first exposed as fundamentally flawed by an expert Canadian statistician Steve McIntyre , an increasingly heated battle has been raging between Mann's supporters, calling themselves "the Hockey Team", and McIntyre and his own allies, as they have ever more devastatingly called into question the entire statistical basis on which the IPCC and CRU construct their case.
The senders and recipients of the leaked CRU emails constitute a cast list of the IPCC's scientific elite, including not just the "Hockey Team", such as Dr Mann himself, Dr Jones and his CRU colleague Keith Briffa, but Ben Santer, responsible for a highly controversial rewriting of key passages in the IPCC's 1995 report; Kevin Trenberth, who similarly controversially pushed the IPCC into scaremongering over hurricane activity; and Gavin Schmidt, right-hand man to Al Gore's ally Dr James Hansen, whose own GISS record of surface temperature data is second in importance only to that of the CRU itself.
There are three threads in particular in the leaked documents which have sent a shock wave through informed observers across the world. Perhaps the most obvious, as lucidly put together by Willis Eschenbach (see McIntyre's blog Climate Audit and Anthony Watt's blog Watts Up With That ), is the highly disturbing series of emails which show how Dr Jones and his colleagues have for years been discussing the devious tactics whereby they could avoid releasing their data to outsiders under freedom of information laws.
They have come up with every possible excuse for concealing the background data on which their findings and temperature records were based.
This in itself has become a major scandal, not least Dr Jones's refusal to release the basic data from which the CRU derives its hugely influential temperature record, which culminated last summer in his startling claim that much of the data from all over the world had simply got "lost". Most incriminating of all are the emails in which scientists are advised to delete large chunks of data, which, when this is done after receipt of a freedom of information request, is a criminal offence.
But the question which inevitably arises from this systematic refusal to release their data is – what is it that these scientists seem so anxious to hide? The second and most shocking revelation of the leaked documents is how they show the scientists trying to manipulate data through their tortuous computer programmes, always to point in only the one desired direction – to lower past temperatures and to "adjust" recent temperatures upwards, in order to convey the impression of an accelerated warming. This comes up so often (not least in the documents relating to computer data in the Harry Read Me file) that it becomes the most disturbing single element of the entire story. This is what Mr McIntyre caught Dr Hansen doing with his GISS temperature record last year (after which Hansen was forced to revise his record), and two further shocking examples have now come to light from Australia and New Zealand.
In each of these countries it has been possible for local scientists to compare the official temperature record with the original data on which it was supposedly based. In each case it is clear that the same trick has been played – to turn an essentially flat temperature chart into a graph which shows temperatures steadily rising. And in each case this manipulation was carried out under the influence of the CRU.
What is tragically evident from the Harry Read Me file is the picture it gives of the CRU scientists hopelessly at sea with the complex computer programmes they had devised to contort their data in the approved direction, more than once expressing their own desperation at how difficult it was to get the desired results.
The third shocking revelation of these documents is the ruthless way in which these academics have been determined to silence any expert questioning of the findings they have arrived at by such dubious methods – not just by refusing to disclose their basic data but by discrediting and freezing out any scientific journal which dares to publish their critics' work. It seems they are prepared to stop at nothing to stifle scientific debate in this way, not least by ensuring that no dissenting research should find its way into the pages of IPCC reports.

As i stated before,35 years ago,i could spend all day in the sun,without a shirt,and perhaps only end up with a slight shade of red skin-not even enough to be irritating.
But there is no chance in hell you can do that now. 20 minutes in the sun without a shirt and hat, or being plastered in 15+ SPF sunscreen,and you are cooked to the point of blistering.

I don't think anyone here is denying that climate changes. All that is being stated is that so far it is within normal parameters.

What is being denied is that the average man in the street is responsible for the change. You have failed to take into account the TPTB's nuclear testing, weather modification programs such as HAARP and Chem trails. Haarp was just their kindergarten, they have mastered that and moved on to more active and precise control of weather and earthquakes.

The US Air force announced that they would control the weather by 2025, what they didn't say is they are there now and that they are using it as a weapon. A new stance against fossil fuels began to rise up about 2 years ago,and now has gained momentum beyond what we would have thought possible-to the point where the big banks are withdrawing funding the beginnings of large coal mines -and the likes.
It's called !lock the gate!--and it's kicking the ass of those that thought them self !untouchable!

There is also a massive amount of people switching to solar,and saying bye bye to the grid supplied power.
We then had the government try to introduce a solar panel tax-a tax on those that has PV systems on there rooftop.
The Western Australian people soon put a stop to that,and at the very next election,those clowns got voted out of power--simple as that.

And this applies to my country as well as yours..

If your country is the USA,then we are vastly different.
Here we are free to collect rain water,and have that as our only source of water supply--no charge,no problem.
How do i know?--because that is my source of water.
Now,i know in some states of the USA(maybe all states),that you are not allowed to collect rain water,or have it as your only source of water.
Here in Australia,we have no sun tax,or solar panel tax,where there are states in the USA that tax anyone that has solar panels on the roof.
A reject named Colin Barnett(our states !EX! premier),tried to place a sun tax on those who had solar panels fitted to there roof.

The people of WA banded together,and had that idiotic idea squashed,faster than Barnett came up with it.
But we(the people) were not finished with Barnett yet.
In the following state election,we removed him from power--it's that simple--the people have the power to make change.

Perhaps you can explain to me how buying and trading carbon tax credits will end "Global Warming"?

As i said,this is not rocket science.
A carbon tax is put into place.
The price of electricity go's up.
More people say-to hell with this,and are now more motivated to put solar panels on there roof,to reduce/cut out there power bill.
It is now cheaper for me to pay off a 6Kw solar system,than it is to pay each months power bill.
Most average house holds need only a 3.5Kw system to break even-no power bill,but as we have a pool,spa,and a bore pump,the 6Kw was needed to offset the power bill by 100%--and in summer we will actually go into credit.
We also have a new solar hot water system,which is that efficient that even on cloudy days,delivers enough hot water for all 3 of us to have two hot showers a day.

So,what happens when less and less people draw power from the grid?-yes,thats right--less and less load on the power station's-and that results in less pollution.

This thinking works in all sorts of way's.
For example--a dozen eggs here got to the point where they cost $2.80 a dozen.
We like our egg's,and we would buy at least 2 dozen a week=$5.60
We now have our own chook's,and feed them food scrap's,and some pellets.
Pellets=$1.80 a week,food scraps=free.
Eggs collected=28-30 a week.
Cost of eggs to buy from shop=23.3 cents each
Cost to produce our own eggs=6.4 cents each.
Here in Australia,anyone can have chook's.
Here in Australia,anyone can collect and use rain water.
Here in Australia,anyone can have solar panels,and solar hot water systems.

It is a HOAX based on false information

Global warming is not a hoax--it is a fact.

You and I have no choice! Why do you continue to blame us?

You-I-(the people) have every choice,and i have given you many examples of that.
We are to blame,because we continue to support and use that which they provide us with.

You are under the false impression that the people have no say-no power,when i have given very clear examples that when push come's to shove,it !is! the people that have the power to set things straight.

The only reason that the !powers that be! are doing this,is because you(the people) are allowing them to do it.

Did you run around with a fly swatter,and swat those nasty flies,or did you grab the can of fly spray full of CFC's,and give em what for--the choice was yours.
