It is not mine, it was sent to me some years ago now. The presumption is it is of the flux fields using simple coil sniffer coils connected to an oscillascope.
I have the video, and presume it was sent by SM to me, it is quite old, circa 1990s.

In answer to Verpies that I do not know how to sync: a scope (some posts back), I looked through my records to find this.

Quite often I use an external trigger, this one does not.

  Yellow trace: A wave, blue/green: C wave, white/purple: A+C.

Yellow is frequency and phase locked to white at 2.5kHz and yellow is the signal of the highest amplitude.
Blue (5.26kHz) is not frequency locked to yellow and exhibits phase jitter relative to it.

These frequencies are 3 orders of magnitude lower than the waveforms depicted in the previous video.

Other members reading this will not know what "A wave" and "C wave" refer to, what circuit, what diagram, what winding, measured relative to what...

Let me talk about frequencies.

SM talked about:- Take the frequency of interest and for one frequency you multiply by 2.1+- and the other by 3.2+- Note more or less, so not exactly, So what is the frequency of interest!!

There was talk of units running at 5kHz.

The toroids used 3 mosfet switches to switch coils in a sequence. Sequencers are common place in audio processing, and use clocks for doing this.

Three switches A B C in a sequence which repeats all the time, but SM said A and C must never be ON at the same time!! So ABCBABCBABCB etc  and I realised B and AC have isolated grounds. Isolated grounds led to two current supplies.

There had to be some form of taking return current to feed back into the system, DC or AC!! the surprise for SM was the output was DC, so I opted for AC across the "b" coils.

SM insinuated that it was interreacting with the Earths magnetic field and or frequency (7.83Hz).

7.8125kHz is used within Analog to digital converting, SM was an audio engineer.

Years back now I went down the path of 7.8125kHz, so what did I find.

hey mike

a lot of what you posted recently seems very intuitive to what SM had to say about things.

i have interest. but i dont have time to figure out what to do with it all beyond what is given.

so you said that some or a unit was said to run at 5khz. was just thinking, if so, then that unit probably didnt have issues with orientation with the earth field?  and if so, would that eliminate the ideas that the unit is drawing energy from the earth fields, and the gain is within the units functions on its own?  and if so, it would seem to be 'best' to not run it at 7.8?

What I found was 7.8125 and 7.83 are so close together that the smallest change makes a big difference when dealing with two frequencies that reference to one another.

What was said was 2.1 and 3.2 + -

7.83 X 2.1284802043 = 16.6659999997 (2.1+-)

7.83 X 3.1928480204342 = 25.000  (3.2+-)

So the frequency of interest was "probably" 7.8125kHz but ended up 7.83kHz a multiple of 1000 X 7.83Hz.

I really do not think this was by design, but I can not prove otherwise, the only person that could do that is SM.

So all that said, if anyone wants to see what happens between these two frequencies from a "base" of 7.83kHz. Attached is the driver circuit for STEAP.

Just scope "3 channels" at the input to the driver chips.

The clock is 100kHz but you input the 16.666*kHz to the pin 13 and not ground that pin.

This simulates what happens within the real circuit because the returning input normally is an alternating current, and the mosfets switch totally independantly to what happens within the circuit (they are floating with respect to circuit ground).

There in lays a problem i had for a long time.

Clock divided into a sequence of 4 (ABCB) "A and C most never be ON together ;)

Three switches, 25000/3 = 8.333*

8.333 X 2 = 16.666*

MIX 25kHz with 16.666*kHz

= 41.666* and 8.333*kHz

41.666/8.333 = 4.999880001* O0

It runs at 5kHz

Mags.

Afaik it has everything to do with the Earths field, both magnetic and electric, why!!  Well if it did not they the conservation of energy has just been thrown out of the window.

The top and bottom toroids are really just one bigger toroid when you seen how they are connected, but still with a gap.

The problem of just one toroid is the gap which just has two alternating magnetic ends within the gap as opposed to 4.

The gap is a pickup, as in a record player pickup with stylus. Here the stylus is the Earths field and moves insequence with the changing poles within the gap. Thus is then amplified by the circuit.

The circuit not only amplifies voltage but also current due to magnetic reflection,

When 100kHz and 32.768kHz square waveforms are applied to the inputs of Centraflow's 4017 sequencing circuit then the following depicts how the width of half of the output pulses grows as these two unsynchronized signals beat against each other with creeping phases. (later on, the pulses shrink).
Nothing except the AND or NOR gate's performance limits how narrow these green pulses can get.

Note that the green pulses mostly come in pairs ( actually in groups of 2 and rarely 3 pulses ):

With square CP0=100kHz and CP1=32.768kHz, the probabilities of occurrences are as follows:
94.82%  : 1 complete 5µs pulse and 1 partial pulse (or vice versa),
  2.59%  : 2 complete 5µs pulses,
  2.59%  : 3 pulses (partial+complete+partial),  ...occurring 848 times per second.

This happens because 100kHz / 32.768kHz ≈ 3.05 which means that a little more than 3 cycles of the 100kHz signal fit in 1 cycle of the 32.768kHz signal ...but since it is a square wave then only half of that cycle is spent at the high level, thus only a little more than 1.5 cycles of the 100kHz signal fit inside the high level period of the 32.768kHz signal where the AND or NOR gate lets them pass though.

Thus you always see 1 complete cycle of the 100kHz signal in the group (which contains 1 complete 5µs high pulse of that cycle) and a fraction of one or two other cycles which can contain a second complete 5µs high pulse (rare) or fractional pulse/s.  It is also possible that the 15.26µs pulse symmetrically straddles 1.5 cycles of the 100kHz square waveform which results in 3 pulses per group (1 fractional pulse + 1 complete 5µs pulse + 1 fractional pulse), this case is illustrated below:

  A rare situation with 3 pulses per group ( probability: 2.59% ).

This rare situation does not happen for square CP1 waveforms having frequencies 3x the CP0 frequency (or higher, e.g.: CP0=100kHz and CP1=34kHz ), or when the length of the CP1's active state is equal or less than 3x the length of CP0's active state. The lack of these triple pulses prevents periodic mode switching of the A,B,C,B sequencing circuit, e.g.: based on the 74HC175 / 40175 chip, or on the 74HC174 / 40174 chip, or on the 4017 chip.
Mode switching is a weird feature of these sequencing circuits where in one mode the pulses at the B output are wider than the pulses at the A & C outputs and a second mode in which the pulses at the B output are narrower than the pulses at the A & C outputs. These modes do not switch as long as the number of CP pulses per group evenly divides the number of states of the sequencing circuit (4), i.e.: 2 CP pulses per group.

Mode Switch. Note the widths of the B pulses wrt A & C pulses before and after the triple CP pulse (circled in red)

These mode switches cause inversions of the duty cycle. This affects the DC-level and low-frequency components of the A,B,C waveforms.
Below is a long-term plot of the B signal averaged by a simple RC integrator that illustrates this phenomenon.  Note that sometimes 2 phase wraparounds between the CP0 and CP1 signals occur before a mode switch.  All in all, this creates a low frequency analog signal.

Low frequency components of the B signal caused by the inversions of the duty cycle and phase wraparounds (cycles at 424Hz)

Finally, during the low level part of the 32.768kHz square waveform (also 15.26µs long), the AND or NOR gate always blocks the transmission of the 100kHz waveform so we see a gap in the CP signal without any edges, which causes the sequencing circuit to pause and elongate its current output pulse.

P.S.
If my pet hypothesis is correct, then the second pulse in each group should always be longer than the first pulse.
This circuit generates such pulse sequences ...but not all the time (less than half of the time, in fact). This happens because the two frequencies beat against each other with creeping phases. On the encouraging side, this sequencing circuit generates many pulse width ratios randomly.  Maybe some of these ratios are magic... In spin echo experiments some pulse width ratios and spacings definitely are special.

This analysis above is of a simulation when two input frequencies 100kHz clock and 32.768kHz are mixed.

In the working unit the mosfets are pulsed in the ABCB sequence with only one frequency, 100kHz clock divided by 4, the 4017 pin 13 is grounded, so the output pulses are 25kHz. The gates see just a simple low duty "12.5%" of un-interrupted sequential pulses.

As shown in the simulation, the 4017 sequencer normally divides by 10 but Q4 resets it after 4 cycles and there are only 3 outputs for mosfet switches. The difference is the DUTY but it is still 100 divided by 4, so 25kHz and not 12.5kHz.

In the real circuit the interruption is caused by the circuit interaction were the circuit "negative" is an alternating current. In other words a mosfet may be switched ON (because the gates are floating) but the circuit ground has turned positive at the mosfet source RESISTOR.

This is an audio engineering trick, the mosfet's source is not grounded. This is why the gate drivers are battery powered where A & C have one battery and B another battery. The ground negative is the other side of the 10 ohm resistors.

There are times when a mosfet is ON and the "drain" is a positive current being pulled down towards circuit ground and a positive adds to a negative of the returning circuit power current. This is where the circuit is KICKED, if you do not have it it will not work as a so called OU generator.

But that can't be because of COE, hmmmmm, so where does the energy come from, and I can tell you now, IT IS REAL.

All it needs now is the main circuit.

It is all to do with the way the coils are wired.

Seems quite complex.  Do you think SM came up with this himself or someone else?  In all that bibbity, bobity boo, if SM ran across something himself, what might he have seen in a simpler form that got him started on this?  Must have been something simpler that got the juices flowing.  Can't be all that and bam, because why do all that for any other reason?

Seems quite complex.
Centaflow's sequencing circuit behaves complexly when supplied with certain two input frequencies, but it behaves very simply when supplied with only one input frequency.
These two operating regimes are very different.

The behavior of source followers is yet a different issue.

Maybe it is simple once it is put together and get it working. I have a hankering for knowing what seeded the idea. So what i was implying was that if SM did discover something, that ended up being what we hope for,  then i doubt that seed wasn't anything 'as' complex as what has been seen as a working model. If mike is correct about all the different windings and then the circuit to drive it correctly, the i doubt he went that far or close to it before he understood what he experienced in order to develop it further.

A lot said about SM and audio. Other than a crossover inductor, there is not much in audio that uses air core windings. Most everything from a simple input power supply to newer more eff switching supplies, the inductors used as filters for the latter, then in the amplifier section, any windings there, and even speaker drivers themselves,  all of them contain cores.   Here we have no magnetic cores possibly.  Mostly as far as i know, the only thing in audio that contains 2 separate windings( not necessarily bifilar wound but typically layered) is a dual voice coil speaker/subwoofer....

Used to have hours long talks with Erfinder. talked a lot about car audio. One conversation on the subject, he seemed to develop an an idea in that moment that 'what if that dual voice coil were wound bifilar instead of layered'. Gave impressions of increased output, but didn't lead me to the way, what, how or why on that. He was always like that but had great conversations. Haven't spoken in a while but consider him a friend.

If Mike's depiction of 2 windings, bifilar, are an actual part of the TPU, what made him come up with that very unusual configuration? I am still focused on the function of that particular component.  Look at it this way ...will the TPU work without that component? If not then why and what is its function? Never seen anything like it and it definitely could be the source of overheating.  So it has some character that fits.

I Heard different stories that SM was working on some quadraphonics and maybe directional sound capabilities...  Speakers have some odd qualities like if the length of the sound wave of the input is shorter than the diameter of the cone of the driver, the sound will tend to beam and be more directional on axis with the speakers motion... like if you buy a set of component speakers, a set of 6.5in will typically have a passive crossover between the mid driver and the tweeter of 3 to 3.5khz but a set of 5.25 mids and tweets will be crossed over at 2 to 2.5khz.  This is to avoid that beaming effect.

If SM was playing with such ideas, what might he had seen in some of that, that led him to the TPU?  Had a speaker laying around with its dual voice coils shorted and it started smoking when its cone was beamed by other drivers?  I dunno, just stuff that runs through my thoughts.

In the end, if Mike's depictions are possibly real deal TPU ingredients, then I'm not seeing a reason for SM to come close to that accidentally for other purposes.  Seems to me there is a simpler idea in it all that got him started, and id love to see 'that'.  The one thing that makes it happen.

If it was found say to be an odd anomaly in the realm of sound energy, that may have enticed him to replicate the effect in electronic form. 😉

Those shorted bifilar windings.  Very strange indeed.

Yeah, I post this pic every time someone uses the word "bifilar" without narrowing down the meaning of that word further.
The devil is in the details.

Diag.3 is essentially a capacitor.

Yeah, Diag.3 is just a capacitor. What is the description of Diag.2? What would be its use?

So here, Diag.3 is just a capacitor with connections tied to each end of the plates/windings, but in Mike's case, it is also being magnetically induced. What use would there be in doing that? Like if it were used just as a capacitor, then why install it as a core with the other windings, rather than having that 'capacitor' off to the side in circuit? What effect is happening using it as a 'core'?

Might sound like im jabbering over nothing.  No, there has to be a reason for it to be in that configuration.

Diag.2 acts as a shorted transmission line that reflects inverted pulses back to their source.  In theory this should not generate any H field in the core because the currents flowing through that winding are symmetric and oriented in opposite directions.
Ask Smudge if such arrangement can influence the A field as in the Aharonov-Bohm effect.

Perhaps to charge this capacitor using the Lorentz force of a moving unipolar magnetic field that accelerates opposite electric charges in opposite directions.
Such moving magnetic field can be created by other means than mechanically moving magnets.

  Separation and acceleration of unlike
charges by a moving magnetic field.

So if i were to make such a capacitor as in Diag 3, and put it inside another single winding, and drive the single winding, say pulse, would i be able to read voltages across the fig 3 capacitor being magnetically induced by that outer winding?

I already tried putting a bifilar winding from Diag.1 over a bifilar winding from Diag.3 wound over a rubber hose toroidal core and nothing got induced (just like the theory predicts), ...but you are welcome to try it again and your way.

This is not surprising because for the Lorentz force to charge the capacitor, the inducing magnetic field must be virtually moving parallel to the capacitor's wires like the field of that C-magnet and a bifilar winding like the one in Diag.1 just does not generate a magnetic field that moves this way.
Note that the field of the moving C-magnet does not flip direction (that's important).
