How Venice Rigged
The First, and Worst, Global Financial Collapse
by Paul B. Gallagher

http://www.schillerinstitute.org/fid_91-96/954_Gallagher_Venice_rig.html

Six hundred and fifty years ago came the climax of the worst financial collapse in history to date. The 1930’s Great Depression was a mild and brief episode, compared to the bank crash of the 1340’s, which decimated the human population.

The crash, which peaked in A.C.E. 1345 when the world’s biggest banks went under, “led” by the Bardi and Peruzzi companies of Florence, Italy, was more than a bank crash—it was a financial disintegration. Like the disaster which looms now, projected in Lyndon LaRouche’s “Ninth Economic Forecast” of July 1994, that one was a blowup of all major banks and markets in Europe, in which, chroniclers reported, “all credit vanished together,” most trade and exchange stopped, and a catastrophic drop of the world’s population by famine and disease loomed.

Like the financial disintegration hanging over us in 1995 with the collapse of Mexico, Orange County, British merchant banks, etc., that one of the 1340’s was the result of thirty to forty years of disastrous financial practices, by which the banks built up huge fictitious “financial bubbles,” parasitizing production and real trade in goods. These speculative cancers destroyed the real wealth they were monopolizing, and caused these banks to be effectively bankrupt long before they finally went under.

The critical difference between 1345 and 1995, was that in the Fourteenth century there were as yet no nations. No governments had the national sovereignty to control the banks and the creation of credit; or, to force these banks into bankruptcy in an orderly way, and replace fictitious bank credit and money with national credit. Nor was the Papacy, the world leadership of the Church, fighting against the debt-looting of the international banks then as it is today; in fact, at that time it was allied with, aiding, and abetting them.

The result was a disaster for the human population, which fell worldwide by something like 25 percent between 1300 and 1450 (in Europe, by somewhere between 35 percent and 50 percent from the 1340’s collapse to the 1440’s).

The Greatest Economic Collapses In History

War and politics have been the focal point of the downfall of many dominant nations over the course of world history, but poor economic decisions have also led to countries falling, people dying from hunger, and revolutions changing the course of world history.

Niall Ferguson's book, "The Ascent of Money" details the course of economic collapses. The further back the collapse, the less detail there is on the decisions made, the decision makers, and issues surrounding the decisions. But Ferguson does a great job of explaining in detail the effects the collapses had on each particular nation and the global economy.

The development of economic principles and financial methods of accounting for money throughout time are also detailed in "The Ascent of Money", as Ferguson paints a timeline of how economies developed and crashed, and what was learned afterwards.

Ferguson's book was the primary source for the information in this article.

ISIS and the New Middle East

http://therebel.org/en/editorial/777053-isis-and-the-new-middle-east

It is obvious who benefits from ISIS, is it not ?

"I can see the picture now, US is behind ISIS, as I see this thing unfold."

Andrew Slone from Prestonsburg, Kentucky.. get's it! But who is the hidden hand behind the US ? Figureheads change regularly, Foreign Policy does not..

My view of ISIS is that they are a tool to flush out individuals inclined to participate in Middle East aggression.

My view of ISIS is that they are people who have had quite enough of egomanics meddling in their affairs. I mean people can only put up will others pillaging all their natural resources and carpet bombing their families for so long until a breaking point is reached.
Now if someone carpet bombed your family and stole all that has value to you would you 1 )give them a big old sloppy kiss or 2)seek retribution?. nuf said

I guess the real difference is that here in North America someone can steal everything you own with a piece of paper while over there they simply wack off the head of the imbecile holding the paper which puts a new spin on the term "justice" doesn't it?. Which is why our supposed rule of law will never work over there because they still believe someone must always be held accountable for an injustice.... there is no time limit on justice for them.

American Neocon provoked war policy has done just that
as the first stage in "recruitment" for Extremist Islam
terror organizations.

It is the culmination of a very long range PLAN devised by
those who now occupy the State of Israel - infiltration of
governments and especially religions with Crypto Pretenders
to corrupt and introduce brutal terrorist tactics into the
actions of Intelligence Service Created Extremist Groups.

The war-mongering which is now characteristic of all major
religions is not consistent with their beliefs, but is rather
the result of corruption brought in by infiltration.

Follow the money trail and it always leads to the Money
Changers through their front organizations and controlled
governments:  The Rothschild Banking Family.

I think the real truth is much more disturbing and relates to the American way... screw them all over and make them pay.
You know it is much easier to start pointing fingers and fabricating BS stories but in my opinion the root cause here is basic human nature which has reached a new level of stupidity. That is the checks and balances and accountability have been thrown out the window and replaced with clever PR campaigns to disguise the fact that we now live in a screw or be screwed world where unaccountability reigns. Personally I don't buy it and neither do most of our children and when they grow up and all the boomers are six feet under I think we will all be a lot better off. Our children are much more responsible people than we are...go figure.

Precisely.  It has been too easily accomplished.

When they see the result they marvel at the monster ball and wonder how the contriving of it came to be originally thought out and planned. And the law he speaks of looks much like this:

Think of divide and conquer, put into resonance--much like a fractal.  All that will be left in the end are the ones that orchestrated it, or should I say, removed themselves from it; all the actors will have met their blind fate.

There are occurrences such as described by Mark Twain in
the quote provided by AllCanadian, unguided by the human
hand.  But in the world of Politics and Government such
occurrences are very rare and are of little consequence.

I suppose it is difficult for some to grasp the depth of
the Political and Governmental Control System and the
power of The Hidden Hand.  No matter, shortly all will be
revealed such that even those who have yet to open their
eyes will finally "see."  The level of deception is more than
stunning.

Each day brings more and more Chaos - by design.

Good find Matt!

ISIS: US-made Monster Running Amok in Middle East

http://www.globalresearch.ca/isis-us-made-monster-running-amok-in-middle-east/5398119

In its desire to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad, the US channeled arms and funds to the Syrian rebels, many of whom splintered off and formed the Islamic State, which is now giving the US far more problems than it had bargained for.

One year ago, it seemed certain that Washington would launch a military strike on Syria, bringing to its knees yet another undesirable government in the Middle East. However, at the eleventh hour, an incredible thing happened: President Barack Obama requested approval from Congress before using military force in Syria. While some were tempted to applaud the Democratic leader for doing something as radical as upholding the US Constitution, other factors played a role in the decision.

One of the most convincing reasons for Obama balking on war (aside from Britain politely excusing itself from the expedition) could be summed up by damning comments by Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who famously remarked that the US military should not be serving as “Al-Qaeda’s air force.”

“We should be focused on defending the United States of America. That’s why young men and women sign up to join the military, not to, as you know, serve as Al-Qaeda’s air force.”

Suddenly, the American public was forced to fathom the unfathomable: In Syria the US was lending support to the rebels that were getting help from the same terrorist organization that attacked Manhattan and Washington on Sept. 11, killing some 3,000 citizens.

Needless to say, the political stakes involved in advocating on behalf of the Al-Qaeda-linked Syrian rebels suddenly got a lot riskier.

The Texas Senator said that of nine militant groups fighting against Syrian government forces “at least seven had direct connections to Al-Qaeda.” Arming and funding known terrorists in Syria “makes no sense whatsoever,” he said.
Cruz then reminded his colleagues on the basic rules of foreign policy.

“I’ll give you one of the simplest principles of foreign policy that we ought to be following: Don’t give weapons to people who hate you. Don’t give weapons to people who want to kill you.”

Cruz’s comments attracted the wrath of American hawks, most notably from Republican Sen. John McCain, who last May secretly flew to Syria to meet with rebel leaders, including General Salem Idriss of the Free Syrian Army. McCain, suddenly characterized in the same league as Al-Qaeda, slammed Cruz’s claims as “totally uninformed.”

However, it was not only the Republicans, of course, beating the war drum for military action in Syria. Last year, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton went on record as saying: “We will work with like-minded states to support the Syrian opposition to hasten the day when Assad falls.”

Ultimately, critics of America’s activities in Syria proved right. Supporting the Syrian rebels without understanding the true nature and character of these individuals marked yet another US foreign policy setback in the region.

Islamic State rising

Almost overnight, many of the Syrian rebels – some of them Al-Qaeda members – working to overthrow the Assad regime broke away and formed what has come to be known as the Islamic State of Syria and the Levant, or Islamic State (IS) for short.

The dramatic rise of this group almost defies belief, but apparently its willingness to use extreme forms of violence explains part of their sudden popularity.

On the other hand, IS is said to be so cruel and vicious that it managed to get disavowed by Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of Al-Qaeda, the very same group of terrorists that thought nothing of flying commercial aircraft into the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

The latest victim of IS’ cruelty was James Foley, a freelance journalist who disappeared in Syria in November 2012. On August 19, a video briefly surfaced entitled, “A Message to America” that showed Foley kneeling at an unknown desert location. After delivering a brief statement that is critical of the United States government, the video fades out as an alleged IS militant is seen dragging a knife across Foley’s neck.

It should be mentioned that some analysts have questioned the legitimacy of the IS video on several accounts, namely the apparent censorship of the beheading: If IS is indeed so cruel and vicious why was the actual moment of the beheading concealed? Also, no Arabic is spoken in the video. Foley’s captor and apparent executioner delivers a brief address in the English language, which might be understandable since some IS members hail from Britain. And why is the video not of the grainy, shaky sort usually put out; why is it so polished? It is questions like these that have caused some to believe the video was a carefully staged event, although few doubt that Foley was indeed executed.

However, such questions are not hurting the membership drive of IS: according to one of Iraq’s most respected security experts the number of Islamic State recruits is much higher than that estimated by foreign observers – around 100,000. Foreign estimates put the figure between 20,000 and 50,000.

Meanwhile, the US government is tracking as many as 300 Americans reportedly in the ranks of Islamic State. Washington has expressed concern that these radicalized civilians could become a risk to the US if they return home with skills learned overseas to carry out attacks, anonymous US officials said, according to the Washington Times.

“We know that there are several hundred American passport holders running around with ISIS in Syria or Iraq,” a senior US official said. “It’s hard to tell whether or not they’re in Syria or moved to Iraq.”

“ISIS now presents itself as an ideologically superior alternative to Al-Qaeda within the jihadi community and it has publicly challenged the legitimacy of Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri,” said Charles Lister, a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution, in a paper last month. “As such it has increasingly become a transnational movement with immediate objectives far beyond Iraq and Syria.”

The reason for the surge is that IS is quite effective at swallowing up other insurgent groups.

“[The] Islamic State didn’t come from nowhere,” according to Hisham al-Hashimi, who advises Iraq’s intelligence services and analyzes information gathered on the ground. The organization “is an extension of groups that existed before – historically and ideologically,” al-Hashimi told Mashable.

If the Islamic State’s sensational rise to power sounds familiar, that’s because it is. Back in the 1970s, the United States armed and trained the mujahedeen in Afghanistan to help fight against Soviet troops in the decade-long Afghanistan War (Dec. 1979 to Feb. 1989). Those fierce fighters, under the leadership of Osama bin Laden, eventually morphed into Al-Qaeda, which turned out to be the first foreign adversary of the United States to launch a successful attack on the US mainland.

Now IS too has threatened to bring the war to America’s front door.

A backdoor to war into Syria?

Ironically, the explosive rise of IS across a wide swath of Iraq and Syria is handing the Obama administration an opportunity for doing what it could not do one year earlier: Open a military offensive in Syria. Following the reports of decapitated Christian babies, and the beheading of the American James Foley, it will be harder for critics like Ted Cruz to question a military operation against IS – even in Syria.

In fact, the US media seems to be priming the American public for yet another Syrian showdown: “The Pentagon began preparing options for an assault on Islamic State fighters after the militants last week posted a gruesome video showing the beheading of American photojournalist James Foley. Deliberations by Obama’s national security team on expanding the campaign against Islamic State from Iraq into neighboring Syria gathered pace in recent days,” Reuters reported on Thursday, quoting unnamed officials.

“From unmanned armed drones to powerful Stealth bombers, a wide range of U.S. airpower is at Obama’s disposal, including possible missiles fired from warships at sea or from aircraft flying outside Syria’s borders.”

The obvious question is: Will a US military attack on IS positions in northern Syria eventually snowball into a full-blown war with Syria? President Assad has already warned that any foreign military actions on the territory of his country will be considered an act of war.

And that may be exactly what the hawks in Washington want to hear.

Robert Bridge is author of the book, Midnight in the American Empire, which discusses the dangerous consequences of extreme corporate power in the United States.

“The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend”: How the U.S. is Using ISIS as a Pretext for War Against Syria

Absurdity beyond comprehension.

Washington supported the Free Syria rebels who aligned themselves with the terrorist group called Al-Nusra to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad,

Then the Syrian rebels and other groups in Iraq form another terrorist organization who call themselves the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The consequences of Washington’s policies of aiding the Syrian rebels including ISIS have served a purpose. ISIS has spread to both Syria and Iraq gaining territory.

Leaks Reveal Turkey using ALQaeda for False flag in Syria

http://www.syrianews.cc/leaks-reveal-turkey-using-alqaeda-false-flag-syria/

A leaked conversation between Turkey’s intelligence chief and the war room reveals plot  to create a casus belli for war with Syria by using ISIL, an alQaeda offshoot, to threaten a turkish shrine Suleiman Shah Tomb.  Turkey has blocked youtube in order to cover up the leaks.  Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed the recording of planning for a military incursion into Syria adding that a  ‘network of treason’ was responsible for leak. Part two of the leaked conversation implicates John Kerry US secretary of state in the plot.

I wonder why Alex Jones does not mention in his article that Kerry was directly implicated by name in the tape ? Surely it deserved at least a line or two..

Yes I wrote it then rewrote it, then deleted it and rewrote it then rewrote it once again... it was enlightening for me as well. As I said in the post I deleted, I'm a canadian and about as passive as they come and am always the first to help anyone in need but the BS comments made here really got under my skin.
To be honest I find the conversation here distrubing and that so many would have such a complete lack of compassion for the millions killed over "there", the pain and suffering inflicted by gun crazed egomaniacs on both sides of the conflict. I have decided I am done commenting because most seem uninterested in the real humanity of the conflict and would rather quote news acticles and other propaganda.

The propaganda, the outright lies, the fanning of the embers
for war and the threats have really ramped up in the past
several months from the political machine known as "The
West."  Those who are in power in The West have shown that
they have absolutely no concern about spilling blood of innocent
victims.  Israel conducts the worst sort of brutal genocide and
is given a "pass" by The West.  The new U.S. installed regime in
The Ukraine employs brutality against the Russian inhabitants of
those regions which were formerly Russia and is given a "pass"
by The West.

The West, which is tightly controlled by the Banking families
who created THE CITY OF LONDON, is being used to further
the cause of Zionism and the creation of Greater Israel
with bloody hands in its rush to formalize the New World Order.

The West acts as if intoxicated with its power to use great
military and financial might in order to force others to do as
it wishes.  The bloodshed, very unfortunately, will intensify as
the "War on Terror" uses its agents of terror to accomplish its
PLAN.

The U.S., according to Paul Craig Roberts, is nothing more than
a "two-bit punk puppet of the Israel Lobby."

In truth, it is much more extensive than that;  Canada,
the U.K., Ireland and Australia are in the same boat...

So, who is it that controls virtually all wealth in the
Western World?  A "control" which enables them to
effectively "extort" whatever action they want from
the governments in question.

I feel your pain Grum.  I too have a nephew that had many close calls in Iraq participating in uniform with a U.S. Army Striker Team.  Only luck brought him home safely alive.  He described to me many events that could have easily been his last and was the last for many innocent Iraq civilians.  Fortunately he saw enough and chose not to reenlist.  I suspect to some degree I had a hand in that.

Our generation has the duty to educate these younger men and women.  We have lost control of our governments and if we lose control of our children, these wars will quickly spiral out of control and take all of us with it.

In the U.S. we have the Department of Defense.  On the surface it would seem this establishment is concerned with offense, not defense.  But I will assure you it is for defensive purposes, the goal of which is to make the world safe and profitable for business--big business; big money.  It defends the interest of those muDped speaks of, plain and simple.  If we can reach the younger generation and show them there is no honor in being a part of this establishment, maybe we can defer the bloodshed.  And I say defer, because a day will come when there will be serious bloodshed and that will be when we finally put our will together and punish the minority that started all this.  And when that minority has been shed of its mortal coil, it can stand in front of all those souls it needlessly killed, make amends and repent for its sins.

EMP Attack On Power Grid Could Kill 9-In-10

http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials/050914-700375-electric-grid-vulnerable-to-emp-attack.htm

Vulnerability: Expert testimony before Congress on Thursday warned that an electromagnetic pulse attack on our power grid and electronic infrastructure could leave most Americans dead and the U.S. in another century.

That dire warning came from Peter Vincent Pry, a member of the Congressional EMP Commission and executive director of the Task Force on National and Homeland Security.

He testified in front of the House Homeland Security Committee's Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Security Technologies that an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) event could wipe out 90% of America's population.

Most people's eyes might glaze over upon mention of the committee name, the title of the hearing — "Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP): Threat to Critical Infrastructure" — and the general subject of EMP. But it is a real threat and not the stuff of science fiction.

Some attention has been paid to the potential cataclysmic effects of a natural phenomenon such as a massive solar storm, an event that has occurred in America's horse-and-buggy era when it did not matter.

Today an electromagnetic pulse event would be devastating. It wouldn't need a solar storm, just a solitary nuke detonated in the atmosphere above the American heartland. We would envy the horse-and-buggy era.

"Natural EMP from a geomagnetic superstorm, like the 1859 Carrington Event or 1921 Railroad Storm, and nuclear EMP attack from terrorists or rogue states, as practiced by North Korea during the nuclear crisis of 2013, are both existential threats that could kill 9-of-10 Americans through starvation, disease and societal collapse," the Washington Free Beacon quoted Pry as saying.

As we reported early last year, Pry, a former CIA nuclear weapons analyst, believes that North Korea's recent seemingly low-yield nuclear tests and launch of a low-orbit satellite may in fact be preparations for a future electromagnetic pulse attack.

A copy of a report prepared by the Department of Homeland Security for the Defense Department, obtained by Pry from sources within DHS, finds North Korea could use its Unha-3 space launch vehicle to deliver a nuclear warhead as a satellite over the South Pole to attack America from the south.

As the Heritage Foundation has reported, an EMP attack with a warhead detonated 25 to 300 miles above the U.S. mainland "would fundamentally change the world:"

"Airplanes would fall from the sky; most cars would be inoperable; electrical devices would fail. Water, sewer and electrical networks would fail simultaneously. Systems of banking, energy, transportation, food production and delivery, water, emergency services and even cyberspace would collapse."

The electrical  grid could be hardened for less than we spend on foreign aid every year.. why is it not being done ?

Your Achilles heel must remain exposed and unprotected for a quick kill, is the reason.

So what is the federal government doing to protect us against such a horrific disaster?

Absolutely nothing.

In fact, according to a recent WND article, ex-CIA Director Michael Hayden says that the Obama administration has no plans to defend us against an EMP blast…

Contrary to the findings of a 2008 commission mandated by Congress to consider a defense against an electromagnetic pulse attack and its effects on the national grid, a retired Air Force general who also headed the National Security Agency and the Central Intelligence Agency says that there isn’t a solution to an EMP attack.

Speaking before the Bipartisan Policy Center at a conference on the threats to the U.S. electrical grid, Michael Hayden also said the Obama administration has no plan to defend against an EMP.

In fact, Hayden says that “there really aren’t any solutions” to this problem…

“I don’t mean to be so flippant, but there really aren’t any solutions to this, so I would just leave it at that,” Hayden said.

Of course that is a complete and total lie.  It would take less than a billion dollars to protect the largest transformers in our electrical grid.  But the Obama administration refuses to do it.

Since the Obama administration is doing nothing, some state government officials are now considering taking action…

At the National Council of State Legislatures last week in Atlanta, a number of lawmakers said they’re preparing legislation similar to a bill introduced in Maine recently did under the leadership of Rep. Andrea Boland.

Efforts are under way to press the membership of the NCSL to address the EMP issue, since the federal government has failed to take action to mitigate the potential for a catastrophic event, whether natural or man-made. An EMP event could knock out the U.S. electrical grid system and the critical infrastructures that rely on it.

Along with the national electrical grid, other critical infrastructures include telecommunications, banking and financial transactions, oil and natural gas pipelines, transportation, food and water delivery, emergency services and space systems.

In short, an EMP event could cause the collapse of society.

If you're ever stuck out in the wilderness, remember what survival experts call 'the Rule of Threes'.

You can live 3 minutes without air, though we don't recommend trying. In a harsh environment — it's snowing, say — you have 3 hours to survive without shelter. After 3 days, you need water or you'll perish. You can make it 3 weeks without food, though we promise you that won't be fun.

Despite this possibly helpful rule, some people have survived 8 to 10 days without water. Again, leave such shenanigans to the truly desperate.

Everyman decries immorality

The rhetoric in the UK has reached fever pitch, an attack is now 'highly likely' according to the Prime Minister, which means it is coming and soon.

After Hungerford and Dunblane the UK elders gave up their right to own and bear arms in defence of the self and the realm, with barely a whimper of protest. A disgrace that will echo through eternity.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_to_keep_and_bear_arms

The right to keep and bear arms (often referred to as the right to bear arms or to have arms) is the people's right to have their own arms for their defense as described in the philosophical and political writings of Aristotle, Cicero, John Locke, Machiavelli, the English Whigs and others. In countries with an English common law tradition, a long standing common law right to keep and bear arms has long been recognized, as pre-existing in common law, prior even to the existence of written national constitutions. In the United States, the right to keep and bear arms is also an enumerated right specifically protected by the U.S. Constitution and many state constitutions such that people have a personal right to own arms for individual use, and a right to bear these same arms both for personal protection and for use in a militia.

In the UK we have been effectively disarmed, only agents of the government and criminals have access to firearms. When the axe comes down most will perish, unable to exercise their right to self defence and defence of the realm, due to legislation imposed in the horrific aftermath of two mass shootings, events about which many questions remain.

Prepare as best you can because time is not on your side.
